No, it does. I’ve honestly never had ping issues on a retail arena game.
Also, lol. So your entire issue is that you live in Perth. The most remote capital city in the entire world. Do you not see a problem with catering to the wow playing population of a small city like Perth? It’s insanely selfish of you to behave like everyone else should suffer because you chose to live in Perth.
We need cross-region queueing. It would still prioritize matching Perth players against OCE. It would only server to improve the game experience for everyone.
Agreed, the player pool is too small and encourages filthy degen gameplay like wintrading and rating blocking on alts.

When they merged them, battlegrounds were almost unplayable. It may have said 200 ping but half the time you could measure it on a watch at much closer to 1s (1000ms), with huge rubber banding.
As someone else said, take your guild and go play on the US servers.
If they continue the arena earn that we saw in this last season it will encourage more people to take part. It was too little too late for TBC. They stuffed arena so no one wanted to play, as you can’t really just have fun, like back in the day, at a casual level.
Or in contrast they could let you toggle global matchmaking, individually.

1000ms rubber banding is not and has not ever been a consistent thing in battlegrounds on US servers.
Besides the point that the servers being stuffed for a very short period isn’t a good reason, you’re cutting off your nose to spite your face. This will only shrink the playerbase in all facets of the game for you on OCE. If you want to dilute the small community we have even further, then your own experience is going to suffer as a result.
Your final sentence, however - totally fine idea. (So long as ranks are sorted out somewhat fairly and it’s able to be implemented)

Merge the battlegroups - it isnt an issue on retail, it wouldnt be an issue in wrath… but having to stop queuing because theres one mage/rogue farming you is an issue.

just want to be able to queue arena whenever and not be restricted by queue windows

Just came back to the game hoping this had changed but still the same. I hope Blizzard look at merging us again for WotLK.

Someone tell Talbadar - probably only way this will get fixed we need someone on the inside.

exactly!!! why cant they give OCE one response! people have been asking and complaining since season 1… no word is not good enough!
No, Just no. I don’t want the 200+ms lag for BG’s and arena, if i wanted that i’d play on the US servers.

I just don’t understand this - it shouldn’t affect your ping:
Queue up, prioritise games in OCE region, if not games found in X minutes (X up for debate), expand to US region.
It won’t affect your experience in the slightest unless you choose to queue in off-peak times (which means you will still get games, even if the ping is subpar). Win-win.

Pvp isn’;t fun when theres a disadvantage
its less fun when you can’t play at all
Dont worry, blizzard will wait and pretend to care. Then at the beginning of WOTLK say its fine with enough players, then 6-8 weeks later when half the player base quits it will be back to the same, ie dead.
Prove me wrong
Totally agree. I am not even close to a high rating, sitting at 1800 in most brackets, and it is frustrating to only be able to do 5s on Tuesday and queuing into the same RMP 5 times out of 13 games one night and just tanking rating (as turbo). Also, bigger pool will make it easier for people to hit breakpoints for weapons/shoulders (1850/2k). My ~1800 5s team is 40th in OCE or something stupid, that shows how low the numbers are
your kidding right?
how will it not affect my ping?
there is no prioritising OCE servers in retail why would they make it a thing in Wotlk.
i played retail and the BGs were almost never on an OCE server even know i played on barth/jubei/frost.
bump for a blizz response!
