I said the first part in a better way, give me some credit
The real value of the 96 ring that you earned is the memories and feeling of accomplishment that it reminds you of - something unchanged by people with new replicas.
If you want to discuss the merits of why you feel entitled to things you missed out on, then make your arguments instead of insulting me. You don’t see me calling you a diaper-wearing baby because you want to be given things you didn’t earn.
EXACTLY!!!
Somebody else going and riding a tram up a mountain doesn’t take away from you climbing it!!!
Well… what I don’t want to do is just slam my foot down and say “no!!” like the rest of the internet. I try to encourage conversation and discussion as much as possible.
Maybe in another thread.
Skorne like I’ve said, I’m not the one asking for these things. I’m happy to earn my mythic sets on my own time, when I’m able to solo old content. That’s how I do my collecting and earning. I got my Sulfuras by crafting and farming it myself back in BFA, same with Thunderfury. It’d suck if that wasn’t possible at all - and my entire stance, Mr. Scrooge, is that these things should be available in some way. I don’t care how. Best way is the way they were originally obtained - get it through boss drops or legendary quest lines.
Wanting to be part of a super special “I was there” club is…I dunno. It’s an experience built on excluding other folks from an experience. I ain’t here for it. The only thing that doing it at a certain time is an achievement at MOST. ATOC is the only thing I don’t oppose because it’s just a check on a list. It’s not decorative, you can’t display it - it’s just a lil somethin for you. A stone you brought with you from a lake bed.
You’re asking to own the lake.
And gods I’m not gonna argue with you like that, what do you think this is, Reddit? I’m not asking you to prove ash and smoke and I’m not about to bend over backwards for some undead who’s upset his exclusive items are now widely available.
That’s nonsense, because it’s directly counter to the collector’s mindset. In fact, it actively promotes hoarding and obsession because if you miss one, the collection is invalid.
I had a Pokémon love, worked hard to get my National Dex completely filled, events and legendaries included. Then Sword and Shield happened and did away with the national dex. My interest waned, because the collection was both invalid and inconsistent. I wanted to catch them ALL, not just the ones Nintendo thought was marketable.
Having collectibles become missable doesn’t increase their value, it just increases the players’ anxiety.
Sorry, I wanted to debate you on your merits, but the moment I see you insult me again doesn’t particularly make me want to continue reading anything you have to say.
Was more for me than you tbh.
I didn’t walk into this conversation with good faith, and I’m not here to have a calm and reasonable conversation. I’m not here to make you feel like your argument has weight, because it doesn’t.
I’m here to tell you you’re being a butt.
I’m not great to just everybody. I’m gentle with people who need it. I’m not of the opinion you are, from how you’ve talked to folks. You conjure images of a child on a playground, yelling at other kids to find another sandbox to play in because you got there first.
I’m not better than you. I’m the kid yellin back on the other side.
But all of this is silly, and while I should’ve just walked away, you should be sharing.
Lol, I love that the op was already greyed out when I just clicked this thread because that saved me the time of reading the same pointless outrage from someone that literally has multiple other outrage threads and one of them is legit on the same topic as this one so it’s spam.
didnt u leave because of draenei warlocks? u just complain and cry about everything i noticed lol
oh its still goin it seems right below this post lol
You can probably buy a Superbowl ring on E-bay. It doesn’t make OP’s analogy any less absurd but the possibility is most likely there.
They should all come back and they should all be free. Especially the ones few people have. Don’t even make them earn it, just add things to everyone’s collection.
The outrage on here would be something to see if this happened.
Good. The man-children need a dose of reality.
Personally I’m getting mixed feelings to being downright numb to this stuff with the post (and store). I did get The Spirit of Competition (coming in August) back in TBC when it was an item you carried around. I was even ‘lucky’ enough to get the Spectral Tiger Cub for about 15k in the AH - I did a search right after somebody made a very regretful typo - missing several zeros.
Everybody knows that items from the higher level expansions and six-month sub rewards have eventually ended up in the AH. I believe that at least on of the Alabaster mounts from the 15th Anniversary box for WoW will be in the post in August. The big catch with all this is:
Will hypocrisy run wild as new things are added. Different people value different things. One person’s “how dare you!” is another’s “they should!” To push thing to the extreme other end of the spectrum, I’m looking forward to getting the rare legendary appearance drops from Legion, and especially things that came from the Mage Tower.
The time of the gatekeeper is over, the time of the cash shop has come.
reddit had a post about the exclusive gul’dan staff that we got for watching the movie. then it was posted that soon enough even that’s gonna be on the trader’s post. ugh. its true.
so when’s garrosh’s shoulders and invincible gonna be on there? how about that rare cat mount from ZG?
I think they’ve already said high level things you earn in-game won’t be coming back. So PvP stuff, AOTC mounts, challenge mode gear etc.
I do think there’s a place in WoW for “I was there” items and achievements. If everyone is special, nobody is special - there need to be higher echelon achievements and ways to show them off.
Hopefully they do stick with the implied intention of excepting the spectral tiger mount as well - I think that should stay exclusive due to the extent some players went through to obtain it (as I believe Ion said).
There is going to be a day, that you, I and everyone else playing this game will be dead and you’re spending this much time and energy of your life on making sure other people don’t have the exact same pixels as you in a video game… meant to be played for fun. Think it is time to revaluate some priorities in life.
