What made the world appear “dead” was the fact that so many players have left the game over gameplay issues that had zero to do with travel. There are no more players in the world now that travel has been turned into a mini-game. In fact, there are less, because when features are changed to make them less accessible, players who need that accessibility stop playing the content that required it.
How again does locking the remaining players into a travel minigame and forcing some out of the game or out of current content fix the fact that world player partipation is at an all-time low?
as long as i can still do the spin move and knock regular flyers off their mounts and they get none of the special abilities of dragonflying i’d be fine with that honestly. not that it matters if IM okay with it. just throwin my 2cents out there.
just going through some classic profession work in storwind. honestly. i dont think it would be manageable to fly in and out of auction house to prof trainer with new flying. querters are really tight. new flying would be a mess there. by the time youd flap twice to get in the air youd be past where your going and have to dive-crash immediatly
why on earth would you WANT to ride your old flying mounts? Just like being slow? Maybe you want to AFK with auto-run on? maybe you’re a bot and it’s hard for your A.I. to effectively use the new mounts?
I could see wanting your old mount’s cosmetics, but why not just update the old mounts to have the new flying? It’s 3x as fast and far more engaging and if you’re a War Mode Enjoyer you can joust.
Some people want slower leveling. Some people want slower professions and gearing. People are different than you or I. It doesn’t have to be a conspiracy
ever since new flying came out ive been “dreaming” of flying my dusky gryphon with new flying style. cruise around kul-tiras and whatnot. see how far i can get accross vol-dun destert or something. horde’s BFA island got a lot of high points that look cool for a dive off situation
Yeah I think dragonriding is a lot more fun, unlike other expansions I’ve started leveling alts again. I used to wait for flying to be unlocked in all zones to level but honestly Most of my alts haven’t been leveled since MoP
you can actually fly really really slow on a dragon riding mount. I do this while gathering nodes.
aim your mount straight, slightly down. most times you will have to make a micro adjustment up because your guy builds up speed but it gives you time to just kind of “float” or “linger” in the air, you’d be suprised how long/far those dragon mounts can glide at ultra low speeds. worst case scenario your guy starts flapping down, just do a flap up and aim slightly down till he picks up a little speed then aim for center again.
Must everything be a constant measuring stick? Does everything always have to be gogoogogogo, a competition constantly. Most people play this game for fun or… used to anyway.
Probably when they finish integrating non-dragonriding mounts to dragonriding.
Right now from prior PTR’s we have Drakes, Proto-Drakes, Pterodactyls, and Cloud Serpants flagged for dragon riding. In 10.1.7 PTR data Gryphons have been flagged. That leaves Wyverns, Sky Golem (and other mechs), Flying Machines, Flying Horses and misc mounts left to do.
So aside from any misc mounts that don’t fit into the mentioned categories we will likely see normal flying in Dragonflight and Dragonriding in the old world when they have been flagged for Dragonriding.
Then there will be a toggle for Static Flying (regular flying) and Dynamic Flying (dragonriding) to freely swap between the modes.
