When can we expect normal flying in Dragonflight? We were told it is coming. When in Season 3?

Thereâs apparently a developer update coming within the next some hours. I wouldnât be surprised if itâs a first look at 10.2. So maybe weâll get news?
They did say some time ago that they are working on adding dragon riding outside of the dragon isle later in the expansion. So hopefully that also means normal flying on the isles. For those who want it.

Unfortunately the Developer Update later today seems to be about Hardcore Classic so doubt there will be anything about Retail.

The overwhelming majority of players love and want Dragonriding in all zones and that is what is coming. The devs have realized it would be a waste of resources to expand old flight rather than work on the much improved system everywhere else.
Rejoice in DragonFlight everywhere by 10.3!

How anyone can actually want to go back to flying how it used to be blows my mind.
The current system in Dragonflight makes flying so much more fun and Iâd rather see them implement that flying system into all the old world mounts

Fortunately it looks like everyone will get what they want. Datamining suggests the availability of a toggle to just switch your flight mode (for any mount) between âstaticâ and âdynamicâ, hopefully just at will.

You can not expect it. Slow flying is trash. It is a boring mode of Travel now compared to Dragon riding. It would be cool for our other mounts the flying ones that is to be able to travel the speeds of Dragon riding, also I want to see at least another 50 percent on ground riding mounts and faster ground vigor restoration.

going back to normal flying feels so âblandâ and âlifelessâ now. I cant imagine playing this game without the new dynamic flying system. cant wait to do some dragon flying around kul-tiras. with any hope, at some point in the future, I will be able to use the new dragon flying style with the pride of my fleet âthe dusky waycrest gryphonâ

Let us use old world flying. Ty. Dragon flying is tired now, sure Iâll do it if I have to. I prefer old flying. We deserve our option.

Apparently, youâve never died in DF otherwise you would have experienced normal flying. It is already in DF and weâre just waiting for it to be implemented for use by those of us who do not need an agility game within the game. Happy you are enjoying dragon flying and happy for you it is expanding.

Whenever I go to dragon isles I canât wait to go back to normal flying zones, it feels like being forced to play a different game within WoW.
Itâs embarrassing jumping off the nearest cliff and realizing 1 millisecond after I have jumped that I canât turn into a bird as Iâm falling like I am used to doing. And after I go splat I tell myself I donât need to setup a macro or something on my hotbar to prevent it because that is NOT happening again.

That is just your personal opinion. I find both flight systems useful, depending on on what I am doing and the lack of regular flying in DF zones has cut down my enjoyment of DF and resulted in my spending less time in WoW than at any time in the past. And not being able to use my bird form really bites.

This is my largest complaint, bird form and farming, and rare camping. Luckily there isnât much rare camping on the dragon isles that is lengthy.
