Non tanks rolling tank trinkets

As I said, there isn’t a tank shortage in raids. Many tanks, me included, runs dps spec because a raid has 2 tanks, which can be as dramatic as 1 tank per 14 non-tank players. If tanks running DPS spec couldn’t get gear because their guild had other tanks, that’d exacerbate the tank shortage in dungeons, not fix it.

I primarily PuG, and there’s always a tank shortage there.

Not going to continue because of junk like this.

Pretty sure since LFR is designed to be done by people in heroic dungeon gear, yea, it’d get done eventually. Wouldn’t bother me none if mythic was outright removed, either, not advocating for it just wouldn’t particularly Care.

I quit running LFR because if I rolled need on something that I already had an ilvl better for people would react like I killed their children by beating them to death with a puppy, regardless if I wanted the transmog or it had alternate stats I preferred and could level up.

You should too. Make friends. Problem solved.

You didnt elaborate on:

Easy, either a crafted or some world quest item and then you progress with that, do a heroic dungeon or something.

Hell, even a PvP shield with honor/bloody tokens.

Like everyone else when they’re first trying to get their foot into something.

The entitlement is off the charts here.

Yeah, I sure would love to tank if I got nothing for it.

I guess DPS are entitled to a free tank.

It would be a more enticing role if only active tanks could get the tank items, for their services.

So start over? Ignore my mythic raid level gear and skill and ability and start off with questing greens?

retty much have an alt for every spec i want to play. Ignore the QoL features that Blizzard added like dual/multi spec and loot specialization all because youre upset you lost a roll that you were never guaranteed to win in the first place?

Seems a bit archaic dont ya think? All because of a little entitlement?

Won’t a lot of the gear you’re already wearing swap over based on spec?

I play BrM and WW all the time, and I don’t have to change anything.

Just weapons, but on my Monk I don’t need to do that.

So do you quit playing every time you lose a roll? Because dont enjoy doing something for nothing?

WoW would die overnight if all items were taken out of the game, and you just had to do stuff ‘just because’ lol.

It’s an RPG, the gear is part of the fun. And that’s being impacted.

No, I’ve played DPS for years, stuff like Dragonspine Trophy was always in high demand and I’d never win them when they were current.

Still, I appreciated only DPS rolling on those items and not healers and tanks too.

I’d be douchey for me to roll on DPS items as a tank, even though I could.

Its not like mythic’s sole reason to exist is to chase higher gear score (and bragging rights) lmao.

Been tanking since TBC and I’ve never had a problem rolling on stuff without expecting anything I wanted to be competition free. But whatever floats your boat.

If you need to be enticed, n just play DPS instead. There’s plenty of tanks doing it because we actually enjoy it.

I never said didn’t enjoy it, I said it’s inherently less fun than DPS.

And that’s true, otherwise the ratios wouldn’t be so skewed.

Can’t even PvP as a tank.

I think the ratios are more skewed because A: Theirs simply more DPS classes than healer/tank combined, and B: DPS have basically no real responsibilities until you get to harder content, they’ll just stand in things and expect healers/tanks to pick up the slack, then throw a royal fit if they die, and players just don’t want the stress.

If you don’t like people rolling when you don’t personally agree with it, run with a guild that loot councils everything to optimize for guild progression.

My own personal issue is that I PvP a ton and that’s like 50% of the game I’m blocked off from because tanks are frowned upon in PvP. And generally useless.

Especially BrM.

If I’m gonna be locked to PvE only, well, I want what I came there for.

And I don’t mind losing the roll if it’s to another tank.

The last time I ran a tank in PVP was back during BFA using Blood DK’s, I dont know how they’ve locked off tanking from PVP, but I’m also not a big PVP’er over all, what’d they do to make it so you can’t run a tank in PVP?

Blood DKs were pretty decent back in DF, but for the most part tanks are too squishy for anything. Healing reduction debuff would kill a DK. BrM is the worst out of all in PvP- stagger does nothing.

Healers are stronger and harder to kill, and can well, heal others. They’re gods.

While you can play in PvP, it’s generally setting your team up for a loss because you’re a weight rather than an asset.

Not enough damage to kill, not enough healing to survive on your own.

Prot Warriors right now are decent in that they have a ton of CC, shockwave and stuff, decent DPS, they can basically lock a target down, but that’s being nerfed next patch.

A long time ago, Blizzard decided they didn’t want tanks commonly played in PvP. And they make changes to reflect that.
