Non subrace ALLIED RACES + Ascended races

seeking blizzard’s feedback about this. Devs stated that allied races are not subraces and the only thing that makes this not a lie is Vulpera………… last chance to change our minds about it is if there are more in the shadowlands pre-patch events that are actually not variants of races we already have. in Nazjatar theres the ankoan for alliance and in vale Rajani for horde. boom boom easy fix, while your at it add tortollan as a race that chooses a side and perfecto more variation for the world, you added more races from other zones.

Kalimador- Night elves Tuaren, darkspear trolls, draenei, orcs, maybe ogres or quillboar since you updated their models in bfa and added female models, also their God was a wild god hero and since they are close to necromancy, could possibly have connection to maldraxxis.

Northern kingdoms- forsaken, worgen, humans, dwarves, dark iron dwarves, blood elves

Argus- draenei/ light forged

outlands- orcs/ draenei

Draenor- draenei/mag’har/lightforged/orcs, ogres

south seas- goblins

zandalar-trolls

kul’tiras- big humans, mechagnomes

altered time races- lightforged sorta, mag’har ,( saberon, botani, arokoa since these 3 escaped WITH mag’har but fled to the barrens.)

A new one would be the pachari elephant men which were created by the art contest winner, now if Old Gods ever arrive again, we would go to the past of azeroth when it was whole and black empire ruled, the pachari would be the race that faceless could have been before they were corrupted, easily, when wotlk came out everyone thought they looked like tentacle elephant ppl. Also if they were forced to create the old God pyramids it makes sense that they used the Pachari for heavy lifting. By their design they seem as thought they would have been peaceful monks and probably hard for the old god to corrupt which is why they are a prized race for the old gods to throw around as elites in their faceless form which is a kind of old god twist at torture, they meditated to keep old gods out of their mind and now without faces to see or hear, their only sense left is their minds being tortmented by the old gods…

pandaria- pandas… you can also add mogu and jinyu even though the ankoan moved from there a while back.

Also Tortollan are from all over but there are a lot living in pandaria now, we noticed there was a buttload of them during the wanderers festival which is celebrated by pandaren and tortollan since they worship big turtles and love knowledge and stories more than currencies which is perfect reason they can fit as a choose a side race depending on the side of the history they want to gain knowledge and insider tales from… also possible the yakmen and mantid some day, hozen too since they are already in the horde…….

nazjatar- ankoan( the closest we will get to murlocs since they are evolved murlocs). unshackled, naga.

Now the thing is you say you add them where the story makes sense, 8.3 was your chance for the mogu.

missed out on 8.2 for the ankoan but with how theres a slight peace until shadowlands stuff since N’zoth is or thought to be defeated, perfect timing for any race to show interest.

Now sure what you have planned for how we actually get to shadowlands, do we die, use a portal, get shot into the sky, fly up there? but Tortollan and their ancient knowledge may be of use, or of use of how to rid azeroth of the big sword stuck in it.

If any shadowlands races are added they should not be allied races but ascended races.

So Ascended/covenant afterlife races are races from the shadowlands, you can only make 1 of each of those races ( go ahead and put creation/delete time limits to make sure ppl don’t abuse for farming. if u deleted, u cant make another of tht race till a week later.) but they start at the level required to enter shadowlands content, they cannot choose covenants and are stuck in the one they come from

Kyrian race from bastion

the new fawn ppl from night fae ardenweld

the vampire looking guys from vanthyr

the necrolord skeletons from maldraxxas

Ascended races? Why, my dear, we already have the elves. :alien:

when u die and are chosen by a covenant your soul eventually becomes one of the main convenant races, is what we are led to believe so far on blizzcon lore.

But like, why would those races adventure and stuff.

And if anything, We should have those owls as playable!

the owls should be a glyph for druid moonkin form that inscriptions of that covenant can craft and sell the glyph of.

also those races adventure because they sorta already do, as stated from blizz all of the zones have conflict and wars from other forces, besides that there are void or whatnot that attack all of shadowlands that maldraxxis is supposed to ward off, whatever forces are out there and in future xpacs, is the reason they take the war on the aggressive instead of defensive, also they start at shadowlands level meaning by lore standards their adventure started in shadowlands so lvl 50, not from lvl 1 level in in azeroth draenor ect. so they are protecting their own lands as a playable race then whatever future xpac forces come next which they are now apart of because WE made them a part of it by even going into shadowlands in the first place.

The only thing is you need to be able to unlock them as soon as u hit exalted for whatever covenant you choose and complete the story/upgrades, that way you can raid as them and progress in future patches with them as well to grow into them instead of last second in a mid to final patch.

p.s. if blizzard plans on this, it will be confirmed once dataminable files are out since, the playable model files can confirm just how vulpera were confirmed long before they were a playable race because of those datamined wowhead files on playable races.

One thing many don’t seem to understand is that the Shadowlands are essentially a second chance (not referring to you Averyx, but other users around the forums). Souls aren’t just wandering and ghosts doing ghost stuff. These beings have real solid forms and exist on their own physical plane.

We still have a lot more to learn about what the Shadowlands actually are.

So, just think about it. Those races are US. We like to adventure because we like to adventure! That’s just how it is! Currently the Balance between life and death is broken, and the veil has been shattered for all to see. For example: let’s say that we end up freeing all the souls from the Maw in 9.1.5. Where do they go? Some of the souls may still value their old homes and factions. Who’s to say the Arbiter couldn’t let a few souls back into the realm of the living as a thank you to Azeroth.

There’s only benefits here. Azeroth is reinforced by the Shadowlands, the Shadowlands are fueled by the souls of those who the (for example) Kyrian player kills, players get some really amazing looking new races, and Blizzard makes money from race-changes.

It’s a win-win-win-win!

I’d rather see Sethrak as a playable/allied race. :woman_shrugging:

well, better get to gathering more player to ask for it. If it was added, it should be alliance as the alliance is all for following rules and orders, the horde is starting to change to be more free mind instead of follow the warchief now and that does not suit sethrak, only vulpera and since they are rivals it would also be another reason for them to be in the alliance. Is a shame that when BFA Q&A came around devs stated that allied races were not subraces and they were going to add more tough and viscous looking races for alliance and more friendly ones for horde to balance things and then the only thing they add so that they won’t be called liars, is vulpera XD

At BlizzCon 2017 right after BFA was announced, Ion literally said that Allied Races were their take on the community-made idea of Subraces.

he stated several times that they are not sub races

Yeah you can say that but there’s literally nothing to prove it. Nothing you’ve cited of course.

do u have a link from a non pulled youtube video of blizzcon?

Oh, we have a whole Megathread. xD That across this forum and the old ones, has thousands of comments and upmost support.

how close is it to the vulpera one? if it beats it, perhaps there is hope.

You tell me.

I would say at one point in the recent past it was on par with the Vulpera thread. It has died down a bit since Mechagnomes and Vulpera were announced. But there are definitely quite a few of us still, that support it actively.

I can’t provide links but I can tell you the video name:

“The Greatest World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Interview Ever | Mei Cosplay Edition”

Around 13:30 or so is one instance in which Ion calls Allied Races subraces. He says it again later on.

all those replies need to hit the like button of those threads because blizz is like a Instagram model sometimes, mostly ignoring the comments unless the top one has a lot of hearts

I wish we could see the old forums again, because you can see how many threads were made that all capped!

And yes, more hearts would be good. Though 171 hearts for the 7th continuation of the Sethrak megathread is nothing to shake a stick at.

I just watched the video. 13:14. He actually nods against them being subraces.
