seeking blizzard’s feedback about this. Devs stated that allied races are not subraces and the only thing that makes this not a lie is Vulpera………… last chance to change our minds about it is if there are more in the shadowlands pre-patch events that are actually not variants of races we already have. in Nazjatar theres the ankoan for alliance and in vale Rajani for horde. boom boom easy fix, while your at it add tortollan as a race that chooses a side and perfecto more variation for the world, you added more races from other zones.
Kalimador- Night elves Tuaren, darkspear trolls, draenei, orcs, maybe ogres or quillboar since you updated their models in bfa and added female models, also their God was a wild god hero and since they are close to necromancy, could possibly have connection to maldraxxis.
Northern kingdoms- forsaken, worgen, humans, dwarves, dark iron dwarves, blood elves
Argus- draenei/ light forged
outlands- orcs/ draenei
Draenor- draenei/mag’har/lightforged/orcs, ogres
south seas- goblins
zandalar-trolls
kul’tiras- big humans, mechagnomes
altered time races- lightforged sorta, mag’har ,( saberon, botani, arokoa since these 3 escaped WITH mag’har but fled to the barrens.)
A new one would be the pachari elephant men which were created by the art contest winner, now if Old Gods ever arrive again, we would go to the past of azeroth when it was whole and black empire ruled, the pachari would be the race that faceless could have been before they were corrupted, easily, when wotlk came out everyone thought they looked like tentacle elephant ppl. Also if they were forced to create the old God pyramids it makes sense that they used the Pachari for heavy lifting. By their design they seem as thought they would have been peaceful monks and probably hard for the old god to corrupt which is why they are a prized race for the old gods to throw around as elites in their faceless form which is a kind of old god twist at torture, they meditated to keep old gods out of their mind and now without faces to see or hear, their only sense left is their minds being tortmented by the old gods…
pandaria- pandas… you can also add mogu and jinyu even though the ankoan moved from there a while back.
Also Tortollan are from all over but there are a lot living in pandaria now, we noticed there was a buttload of them during the wanderers festival which is celebrated by pandaren and tortollan since they worship big turtles and love knowledge and stories more than currencies which is perfect reason they can fit as a choose a side race depending on the side of the history they want to gain knowledge and insider tales from… also possible the yakmen and mantid some day, hozen too since they are already in the horde…….
nazjatar- ankoan( the closest we will get to murlocs since they are evolved murlocs). unshackled, naga.
Now the thing is you say you add them where the story makes sense, 8.3 was your chance for the mogu.
missed out on 8.2 for the ankoan but with how theres a slight peace until shadowlands stuff since N’zoth is or thought to be defeated, perfect timing for any race to show interest.
Now sure what you have planned for how we actually get to shadowlands, do we die, use a portal, get shot into the sky, fly up there? but Tortollan and their ancient knowledge may be of use, or of use of how to rid azeroth of the big sword stuck in it.
If any shadowlands races are added they should not be allied races but ascended races.
So Ascended/covenant afterlife races are races from the shadowlands, you can only make 1 of each of those races ( go ahead and put creation/delete time limits to make sure ppl don’t abuse for farming. if u deleted, u cant make another of tht race till a week later.) but they start at the level required to enter shadowlands content, they cannot choose covenants and are stuck in the one they come from
Kyrian race from bastion
the new fawn ppl from night fae ardenweld
the vampire looking guys from vanthyr
the necrolord skeletons from maldraxxas
