#NoChanges

PvP isn’t enough. They released new BG’s over the years to keep it fresh. They could do the same in classic. A new BG doesn’t mean they need to change the core game, it just means a new map to fight to keep people from experiencing content fatigue; which does happen even in PvP.

there’s only sixty thousand people on one realm because of layering

No there isn’t. No one knows how many a single layer holds, only that a single layer can hold as much as a vanilla server held. A single realm holds considerably more people than a vanilla servers ever could. Into the 10’s of thousands.

It only effects the number you see in a given area. Chat covers all layers, and means that when you “LFG for dungeon” every person on every layer will be available to play. Every person on every layer will be able to Q for the same BG when they release (but layering wont exist by then). Every person on a layer can join a pug raid. That’s 10’s of thousands more potential people than any vanilla server ever offered.

And the layers are going away when they release phase 2.

Does it?

I’ve played my fair share of D2 and D3. Seems like you get bored of those for the same reasons; because you’re doing the same thing over and over at some point. Yet people keep playing.

the exact number is unimportant,

that is

and that causes more problems

Not if everyone is spread out. There isn’t a limit to the number of instances that can be generated on a realm.

There’s a limit to the number of people that STV will sustain for questing. That shouldn’t be an issue by the time P2 starts because you’ll have fewer people who are going into zones just to level.

PS: And if is an issue, rejoice. It means that everyone that said classic players will be mostly tourists are wrong, and classic is an even bigger success than even Blizzard expected.

What? No they weren’t. The game changed plenty between 2004 and 2006. Is that a joke?

The main issues with doing anything additional (separate of Classic) is no one can agree with anyone, on top of not trusting current Blizz to create true to form Classic content.

You have no changers, people who want new content, people who want BfA QoL brought to Classic, a variation of all those, etc.

It’s fun to talk about what could have been or be but Classic just re-launched a month ago. The folks behind that were constantly met with the wall of no, you think you do but don’t, and now that it’s here all we talk about is change. I get it, it’s exciting to think about.

But I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect anything happening with Classic or even other expansion servers when we still have 6 phases to look forward to in Classic.

If retail fails and legacy servers prevail, then hell yeah, I think additional legacy content will be the go to. But like many have said, that’s a slippery slope, at least in terms of what collectively people will want.

You’re trying to argue semantics and being disingenuous.

Balancing the game, as they’re supposed to be doing, isn’t changing the core game.

Altering how raids worked like they did in TBC, where you go from raiding for drops to raiding for tokens to buy your gear is a core gameplay change.

They core game was never altered in the first 2 years. Talents, skills, and dungeons were balanced over the course of those two years.

It is for a lot of people, actually. All I did in Legion was PvP. For over 2 years that’s all I did in the game. Every night I logged in and just spammed battlegrounds. The only reason I stopped was because the goalpost moved again like it always does and I was forced once again to have to rebuild my character.

Classic has a defined objective. Recreate the Vanilla experience. It should not be changed. That is the game we are playing now.

That said, there is no reason that a Classic+ concept can’t be developed and released either on different servers or as a new game. I am hopeful and excited that this could be done.

people will never be spread out the way you’re imagining, people are mostly mid-level right now, in a few more months early zones will be empty and endgame zones will be packed

aw yeah, let’s celebrate that we were right while suffering all the extra problems blizzard will have created by being wrong

Compromise would work if the nochangers would but they won’t so something is going to give. I’m sure if they split the servers up with some being the “museum piece” and the others having QoL they’d still rage. I’m not sure how many of them would be on their servers if people transferred off to go to QoL servers.

I love how half the things in the OP’s list were in Vanilla.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Lets agree that 1.8 av is better than 1.12

Good for you. If blizzard catered to people like you, WoW would have been shut down years ago, because damn near everyone would have quit. Because no one is paying a subscription for a stagnant game.

in 2 years, when most of the content is exhausted, most people won’t keep paying to play classic. They’ll either quit, or go back to retail (I suspect most likely quit if retail doesn’t make some drastic changes), and most of the classic servers will be dead. And that means you end up with them consolidating all the servers down to just a few, or you end up with retails single server set up.

Yes, blizzard makes bad decisions all the time. What is your point? That because they made bad decisions we should let them do even More???

If so is there a plan where some Russian person is doing an actual vanilla server somewhere that we could all move to?

Make interacting with items and people and potting while shapeshifted great again.

Not Sure… Blizzard just listening Crying baby want Wow more easy and Absurd. And this time, i saw again those baby want Classic become BFA… is this absurd in your opinion? in mine, yes, its pathetique… Humain are now there… :frowning:
