No, Classic was developed for over a year with the sole purpose of making money, and bringing back a lot of subs. The people behind the project are passionate, but at the end of the day the point was not to create a museum, it was to create another cash cow. Not developing more content would severely limit the flow of cash.

I think they have made back whatever they put in already so it’s not a loss.

It cost them next to nothing to leave it as a “museum” piece.

What will cost them though is supporting 2 games at once - Classic and Retail.

If you don’t know what the word potential means, then sure. Thinking it’s even possible for TBC or WotLK servers with no changes to ever be more popular than classic currently is would be completely unreasonable.

TBC/Wrath with no changes have a 0% chance to be as big as classic currently is at launch (obviously it could still make money), Classic+ has a non zero chance thus it has more potential.

There’s always something to complain about.

Blizzard gives us Classic+ and then you same people will make demands for more and more and more. It’s the same song and dance on this forum.

Now, every single day there are 20+ post doing the same “Give me! give me!” spam that’s been happening for years.

Here’s the main issue:

Blizzard gave us Classic because of 2 things:

1. The outrage from their closing of a large private server
2. The Classic WoW community, private and retail alike that highly advocated for WoW in its original official release form.

What is happening now is, because of its popularity, people want to flood in and then change something most of you didn’t even care about, never experienced until now and/or said it would fail.

Classic+ would kill Classic because it would be “new and shiny” so you people asking for “Classic+ servers” know exactly what you’re doing.

You honestly believe that Classic+ would actually be more popular/profitable than Classic versions of TBC/Wrath??? Even if you exclude the people who don’t like the fact that flying was put into the game, TBC/Wrath STILL has many more players wanting to play it than Classic+. As I’ve said many times before, Blizzard will go with the option that would be most profitable and would require the least effort. Guess what? That’s not going to be Classic+

Exactly!!! Classic Wrath and TBC would be e exceptionally well received.

When the topic of a Classic version of the game was discussed, classic Wrath and TBC always were discussed. In fact, many wanted to start with TBC or Wrath and skip classic (I am glad they did not). Nobody wanted Classic+, it has always been Classic with no changes.

The natural progression is TBC and Wrath with no changes as well.

If you want classic with changes no play on a private server.

The majority of Classic content probably won’t be out for a year and you want new content a week in.

Right now Classic looks good for almost two years.

You cannot claim players will get bored and quit when all the evidence shows the opposite.

We’ve asked for Classic, we don’t want to lose it again, at any cost. Its not fair to take it away from us just because you’re afraid of having to find something else to play.

i wouldn’t mind blizzard making changes that make the game more polished without giving us cheat codes like “55% bonus exp” “scalable blues” “lv20 mount for 4g” and “give you all your abilities at lv10”

But things like dismounting by casting and the guild bank are fundamentals that most of us remember always being in the game since we started BC/wrath and are jarring to see in classic.
