So I was thinking about this earlier. You know how thereâs a handful of empty zones that were used in later expansions? IE; hyjal, quelâdorei, etc. Well what if they were redesigned but with the classic vision for a Classic+ experience? I think it would be pretty cool. Iâm not saying to add new races and whatnot, keep the races and classes as they are (or fine tune as need be) just use up those empty spaces that people will wallclimb to get to ;D
Itâs working fine as is. Better than losing people due to no one to play with because of 3 wows.
I think he mainly meant a thing for the future. He does have a point on how we are as WoW players. Weâve grown accustomed to this 2-3 year gap between expansions so of course people will wonder âwell what will come far on later?â
I think Classic will stretch on like you say for a good 2-3 maybe 4 years (the grind I remember was heavy but good <3 ) But people will sooner or later begin to wonder what will blizzard do next?
If I recall correctly they stated they had a limited number of expansions left they wanted to do. Itâs possible that by them finishing up on whatever last expansions are left theyâll be able to focus on wherever retail is and wherever Classic/Classic+/whatever else comes next.
The game just released, of course itâs doing great. A couple years from now might be a different picture, people are going to get what they came for and when that desire is filled they will start looking towards other games.
Player dropoff is inevitable whether itâs boredom or to play something new.
Okay and what changes do Classic+ players want? This is my 3rd time asking.
Youâre LITERALLY asking them to develop, essentially, two separate MMOs - WoW, and WoW⌠two I guess? WoW redux? Where do you think âClassic+â content is going to come from? The MMO fairy?
Most of the people who actually worked on classic are no longer with the company, or are doing other things in the company. Heck, even the guys who worked on the actual pre-WoW warcraft games arenât even developers on WoW anymore. Who do you think is going to make content âin line with the philosophy of classicâ? What does that even mean?
Classic is popular right now because everything they release is popular at launch, but thereâs nooo chance it sustains that level of popularity. Certainly not enough to justify them literally hiring an entire second development team for a niche audience.
None, Classic + is just new content. Not gameplay.
thats the thing, different people want different things.
some people want balance changes.
some people want LFD
some people want Transmog
some people want guild banks
some people want barbershops
the list goes on.
Sooooo retail?
No, retailâs gameplay and design is completely different from Classic.
Iâm not advocating for changes. I donât want anything right now - but a phase release plan would be nice ;c
So you want vanilla with retails new content?
All of those things are in the main game, and all of them, no matter how trivial, will inspire at least a few hundred people howling about how introducing them will kill the community, ruin the game, etc etc.
This is just silly.
No, it will be original content.
But what exactly do you want?
New content
Like what specifically though?
and thatâs the point. this isnât the main game. this is classic. itâs supposed to be a remake of vanilla wow as it was.
so why should the group that wants for example guild banks, get what they want.
but the group who wants barbershops to be left out in the cold?
personally - your better off leaving it as is - or your going to end up right back with the game being retail, except set at level 60.
Story
Quest
Dungeons
Raids
BGs
Zones
Yes, some of those will come with phase 2. Some of those we have now. I have ran two dungeons in the last week. Quests? plenty of them. Zones? Iâm working on it.
