Nobody in the dev team for WoW cares about Lore anymore

That’s okay, the RP’ers don’t either. They play gnolls and vampires and are now looking forward to other nonplayable NPCs as Eeredar. I wouldn’t sweat it too much; the story =/= gameplay and players aren’t canon

All the lore that was retconned and here we are for season 12 of the same whiney crap because it makes someone feel a little less special about something.

next will be void elf paladins and i cant wait

This is like yelling at the author of a book and telling them their made up story isn’t lore accurate.

Anyways, where exactly is there a point where Lightforged can’t use other cosmic forces? Xe’ra was about to tap Illidan’s ASSets… doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be able to draw other forces.

WoW is no longer Blizzard’s little “prodigy child”, so no, there probably is nobody that cares for the lore any longer.

I’ll say it again, WoW jumped the shark a very long time ago.

Who gives a crap Lore has been trash for ages.

Yeah, I mean, you’re not going to make money by sticking to principles.

In the context of this thread, they jumped the shark with The Burning Crusade.

Gameplay>lore

Archimonde had blue skin and he was 2nd in command of the Legion.

What’s this got to do with Lore?

I would be fine with this. I think the Man’ari look is superior anyway. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I’ve got my fingers crossed that Forsaken Paladins get a holy version of the Vicious Gladiator’s Skeleton Warhorse that’s white and blue; and the Horde insignia on the flag is replaced with the Lordaeron “L”.

They could swing some kind of permutation that makes it possible for a lightforged to use the powers of their enemies to wipe the remnants of the legion out of existence. Light infused demons that aren’t enslaved minions but battle comrades with full agency. Maybe replace the voidwalker with some other sort of intelligent race that’s come back to the light like Lorthaxion. But that would require them to make a small quest explaining how it makes sense lorewise, and quests cost money and that is probably never going to happen. But it would be cool.

Lore? Didn’t he leave and works for TikTok now?

No clue… it could if he mentioned shamans but… I’m failing to make the connection to the former host of Legendary also.

Well, yeah.

I mean…yeah.

I was in denial about this as a kid, but it should have become obvious by the end of Legion. The current writers, at best, are interested in taking the shell of Warcraft and inserting their own (painfully generic) storylines. There is no central vision or idea of what the Warcraft universe is and how it works. We’re at the mercy of economics and the uninspired whims of the writers.

It didn’t have to be this way, either. I reject the unimaginative fools who think Warcraft’s lore was “always” bad. Sure, the lore didn’t fully develop until WC3, but you can say the same thing about the Elder Scrolls and Morrowind (took them 3 games to escape from generic dnd drivel).

Warcraft had a vision at some point, core ideas that set the franchise apart from its warhammer roots. But, poor decision-making threw the story off the rails in the early expansions, and instead of getting things back on track, they instead decided to chase whatever was most marketable.

Fast forward to modern WoW. Everyone involved in the original concepts for Warcraft’s lore is either long gone or implicated in scandal. The current writers see the “original” lore as baggage, an impediment to their own ideas. They look at WC3 and the early days of WoW and see nothing of value. They wish they were starting from scratch with their own universe, but they’re stuck with this decades-long expanded universe. At worst, they’ll try to erase the story that already exists, inserting their idiotic cosmic forces and nipple-men to retroactively ruin years of storytelling that the playerbase got attached to.

because you dont get food for free? like ever? what is the point of this analogy exactly?

I’m very disappointed the top 25 replies didn’t say something along the lines of “you’re just now figuring this out?”

Well, there it is.

people have been screaming this since the dawn of time, people screamed they would quit after Worgens were implemented, then Vulpera. u know who makes the lore? Blizzard devs, the lore is what they say it is. Get used to it.

Idk maybe you can start a new thread about it and throw a tantrum

Those people either quit or were laid off.
