No, We Don't All Want Dual-Spec Added to BC

At least you admit that it’s mainly a cost issue for you. I’ve noticed that most people who want dual-spec tend to be those who base this desire on thier own wants (which is fine), however, I think many of us against adding it too soon, are thinking in terms of the entire game and/or community.

This is one of those “it’s for our own good” situations. LUlz.

Now make a post regarding each and every one of these and see how much support you get.

What on earth makes you think that dual-spec would devalue your experience, take away from your own achievement or negatively impact the game… It was added way too late in the first place. Would be great to see blizzard “do it right” the second time around and implement dual spec and transmog ahead of schedule… or do we all feel like coordinated outfits are what RUINED the game? I prayed for it from day 1 of vanilla lmao, we pay a lot of money and time, we should be able to enjoy a good looking game and character model.

thats not a thing in retail, no body suggested that but it does work really well for ffxiv, actually. maybe something they should consider… by that rationale.

One of the only no changes I still stand by. If you want to respec freely from your main spec, there is a cost.

Good point. Maybe you should go out and cure cancer or something rather than play video games and opine about them on internet forums…

Why don’t I do that? Because I have no issue with wasting time - that’s your thing. So don’t waste you’re time, go out and make the world a better place … Chop chop…

Implying. I’m curing cancer while solving the Kennedy assassination all while farming 50g more than you.

The idea of an mmorpg is to take on a role and find other players to compliment your role with their role to accomplish things.

Dual spec diminishes that. Why group up with a buddy when you can just click a button to gain the advantages of a different role.

Dual spec is totally against the spirit of an old mmorpg such as tbc and yet another erosion of the mmorpg community building aspect.

FF14’s existence, popularity, and thriving community negates the entirety of this post. Matter of fact… FF14’s dungeon/raid finder, glamour, ability to change roles/jobs on a whim, and boosts; negates the claim that those systems kill communities and mmos.

This is about gate keeping. Nothing more, nothing less.

what is going on here with all the retail type changes and requests is that the player base realizes that the classics are way better than retail and want to bring in the QOL changes to have the best of both worlds.
The game retail should have been.

YES to dual spec please. doesnt hurt anyone or their ability to enjoy classic if we have dual spec…

I’ve never played FF. Ive heard good and bad things about the community. Whether it measures up to a vanilla server community would be debatable.

You’ve convinced me to try FF for myself though.

That’s one of just a couple things about FF XIV I don’t like.

great go play retail. get some “glamour” lol

I personally would LOVE it if they introduced dual spec… ever try questing for gold on a healer? Dam near impossible… change specs you say… sure then after a week or two your broke from respecs. I personally hate feeling stuck in a role and I think anyone saying “dual spec” would ruin the game are flat out wrong. Would open up more options for people… people would be encouraged to do more content… its literally a win win… if you dont want dual spec just don’t train it lol… it literally doesn’t effect you in any negative way and would be a massive blessing for all those wanting it instead of waiting for wotlk.

Youre glamorizing things that literally dont exist in the game. For one never see anyone compliment people about anything the vast majority simply dont care friend… and thats literally your only argument…? It opens up so many options for people and encourages more content and more to do… You ever been on a heal spec an try to quest? If u have you would not be posting this I promise you that… Dual spec qould be a massive blessing period and anyone crying otherwise are crying just to cry. You don’t like it don’t learn it. When dual spec came out in wrath literally the entire community was overjoyed and it was the best thing they ever implemented in a long time. So pls stop your whining.

this is exactly how slippery slope works with blizzard lol.

blizzard adds 1 thing at a time and feels justified because enough people keep saying “ITS JUST 1 THING ITS NOT GONNA RUIN THE GAME!!!”

then 35 things later you end up with retail

while duel spec was one of their first great ideas, it just opened the door to a bunch of really terrible ideas.

LFG should have never been automated or cross realm, it basically should have been what they have in retail. that group finder tool that lets people be very specific with their groups and whatever. THAT was a great addition to retail.

LFR should have never existed, the current group finder tool in retail would replace both LFG and LFR. LFR basically should have been a lootless boss simulator so people could see an easy version of the fights to prepare them for mechanics and that’s it.

blizzard has also gone OVERBOARD with trying to keep people logging in everyday, all the needless grinds on retail are why i and many others have quit. I would like to be able to log in and just hang out in guild chat. not feel rushed to complete every single world daily because if i don’t my stupid azerite or legendary won’t level as fast as everyone elses. MoP probably had the BEST raid / gear development. they should never have strayed away from it.

they should have never crossed realms. it devalued community. if necessary then they should offer free Xfers from a low pop to a medium - high pop server for 30-60 days allowing guilds and players plenty of time to figure out where they want to go.

this is an MMO, not a shooter. People who play this game for the community and a sense of belonging and being apart of a group are the players that stick around for YEARS.

Catering to the revolving door customers and putting in all the things so people could AVOID EACHOTHER is what killed the game. retail is NOT an MMO in reality, only on paper. I hope a new game developer creates a TRUE mmo again. not the monstrosity that blizzard created

As I said previously, it’s gate keeping. Nothing more, nothing less.

FF14 has all of this and a whole lot more, and their community is leaps and bounds better than World of Warcraft’s. None of what you mentioned, killed World of Warcraft or ruined server communities.

The era of Everquest style gate keeping came to an end over a decade ago. Players who want to continue gate keeping other players from content, are what is ruining server communities. Eventually, you’ll have no one but yourselves to play with.
