So there’s no way to swap talent points around from other specs to create your own character’s flavor -_- you would think pigeonholing players in 2024 would stop.

People complain about being pigeonholed but 99% of the players will always go with the cookie cutter spec that wowhead gives them. Players just want that illusion of choice.

People will find any and every way to complain huh? 99% of the player base will always use some cookie cutter build to just play the game. .99% will do it themselves and it won’t be optimal but will still be in one tree and .1% will make meme specs that hardly function.

But the vast majority don’t do that, they go with the cookie cutter build. So when you say people in general want to do that you’re wrong. Some people will make up their own build but the vast majority don’t.

no1 does that but waffectus and he is a 1500 cr enhancement shaman that doesnt spec into wolves and shaman rage and uses a intellect staff with a dodge gem

Just curious, if the 31 point restriction didn’t apply, what would you want to build? Isn’t Ele Sham the only class who doesn’t grab their capstone talent now?

Yeah they should’ve made it an option just to catch noobs like you trying to make your own “unique” build just do 1/3 of the tank dps.

Back in origional wotlk i made a custom pvp talent build that focused solely on CC on my hunter.
Was a blast being able to get to the back line with disengage and CC 2-3 healers so their front line would crumble.
Didnt do much pvp this time around so never made the spec in wotlkc.
It would be interesting to see what people come up with if they had the freedom to do so with cata talents.

I can see a few class doing it for PvP. Getting silencing shot in a survival spec for example, I’d trade Black Arrow for Silencing Shot for sure.
Must be a lot of lazy min maxers that play this game. Interesting.

no its not? every1 in this game is 30+ at this point and nobody has time to afford to carry your creative butt in a raid so do you part and use the optimization some1 else made the fav to share with you
You could look at it that way, or it’s people that want to do what they can to max out their dps, and choosing the right spec is an easy way to help with that. Why try to reinvent the wheel and figure it out yourself when it’s been worked out over years and years?
