I don’t think I encountered a single person in all of Wrath who did not put 31 points into a single talent tree.
31 points in a tree in Wrath was a lesser investment than 31 points now. We have fewer talent points to distribute because some less impactful talents were removed.
lmao i was about to say this 10/10
this is now retail classic. talent trees were ruined, we have less talents and no room for creativity
what an absolutely boring lame take
I bet if they unlocked it though, they would just push silencing shot one tier higher or a marksman specific ability. The talent design is to make sure certain classes don’t get powerful abilities the spec shouldnt have, but not burying it so deep lower levels dont get access to it.
Like the tank talents to reduce crit chance is on the same level. Get it as soon as possible but putting it out of reach of others.
not even close… Bro in 2010 you had to pick a tree then you were force to go down that tree till you got to the last talent in the tree then you could unluck the other trees. I hated it. This was one of the reason why I Quit OG cata back in 2010.
you’d think people wouldn’t spec into dual wield yet carry a two hand weapon… but they do
It’s been while but I think there were OP issues with certain builds in beta originally and this was a way to control it. I could be wrong. Just ask me wife.
hahahahahaha
not even me saying it this time, thats hilarious lmao
Do you really think this doesn’t happen? Have you not played wow over the years? I think this is why they changed the talents in mop to avoid cookie cutter builds.
This has to be bait lol. I’m going to assume its bait.
min maxers ruin fun, cata talent trees are garbage and its the start of classic feeling like retail.
This right here.
Prime example: you were almost guaranteed to be booted or not accepted to any group during original Wrath into Cataclysm if you played a BM hunter, even though by the end of Wrath BM had been brought back to within 5% of the top hunter spec which was marks at the time IIRC.
One of the reasons I won’t come to Cata, it was like this back then too.
You did not meet me, then
I wont confirm or deny the validity of this but I will say I dont think you are 100% wrong nor 100% accurate with this take. That said, if you are correct, then I think the next thing you said has no real place among people of that age that engage in good sportsmanship when gaming.
This is the expression of entitlement and gatekeeping at its best. Bad sportsmanship and toxic AF at its worst. Im not advocating that everyone should be carried regardless of their gear or ability to play, no that’s not it at all. But there do exist players that dont know what you know. This is a thing. Yes, we all know google and wowhead exist, but have you read them in their entirety? No? Neither has most anyone else. People learn new things about this game nearly every day, even the ones that have played since 2004 launch. You are more than welcome to gatekeep your raids to your guild members and refuse to carry whoever as a guild if you need to pug a spot or two. That isnt a bad take. If you want your raiders to know ever fight ahead of time you can gatekeep in this way to ensure your raid is a successful one.
But if the raid is 100% pug from the start, this mentality should change to be more of a good sportsmanship effort first. People run raids for the first time ever, they exist. People want to experience new content (new to them, not for you, this is also a true thing that exists) and not be chastised and votekicked because they dont know the mechanics of the fight.
If a pug raid were a pickup game of basketball at the park with a few random folk that just happen to be around. It’s gonna encounter someone that doesnt know double dribble isnt allowed so the game halts and informs the new person what they did isnt allowed. Good sports all see it as a learning experience and move on and resume the game. No one stops the game and whines and wants the new guy out of the game for not knowing a thing. That would be ridiculous, childish, rude as all get out. And ultimately showing that they engage in bad sportsmanship.
This is the very common issue I see constantly, telling other people how to enjoy the game the way they do or else they are wrong and bad people for it. People pay their sub to enjoy the game any way they choose to. If all a person enjoys about the game is to raid but detests dungeons, thats no more wrong than someone that wants to pvp and never raid. Or people that get into the AH econ heavily and never raid or pvp. Alt level and never do end game content because they enjoy the grind of leveling. People play retail only to engage in pet battles. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy a GAME in any one way, there are multiple different aspects and not all of them HAVE to be the way EVERYONE has to play the game the way you do.
Then there’s ZERO point of creating the illusion of choice if people are just going to min max. Why give players agency in a theme park?
The idea that anything creative automatically means carried, is as toxic as Chernobyl is radioactive. And as untrue as saying the moon is made of congealed nutjuice.
This is probably the most ignorant philosophy of a MMORPG. The point of a game especially an MMORPG is player agency and player immersion through class spec creativity and flavor. Literally the point of a game being art and pop culture in society, bruv.
Yeah…interesting that when they did the polls for Cata to exist in the first place, it was basically a “Yes, with changes to things that were very unpopular”. This is one of those. Sure many classes dont have a great hybrid spec, but plenty do and especially in pvp it isnt “griefing” anyone.
Preg pal pooped on people all thru wotlk, there are definitely valid hybrid specs.
