I just want my Dark Ranger skin, red-eyes, scars and tats.
This. I’m not opposed to more customization options, but Blood Elves and Void Elves are already the most alike in physical appearance compared to any other two races in the game. Even Nightborne and Night Elves have more diversity between them.
If we give Velves more customization options, I think more “void” or dark hair colors would be appropriate (as well as a black and white color), maybe some more mismatching eyes or blind eyes, talons, void tattoos, or even additional eyeballs. But don’t give them Blood Elf stuff. That sucks for Blood Elf players.
NB would unironically be better if they were just Night elves with different customizations. They’d still be Night elves, so in reality, nobody would win, but still. And a human model for undead with undead skin options would be great.
You say visual customization matters. Sure. In this hypothetical you have though, there’d still be unique visual indications between the two. Different hair styles, beards, skin tones. If hair color strips away so much blood elf identity, just give blood elves more unique customizations unique to their culture.
I would agree except for the fact that the only real thing that sets Tauren and HMT apart are Horns vs. Antlers.
Void elves are blood elves.
Void Elves.
Nearly turned into Ethereal beings.
This isn’t just a BE/HE name change, Umbrics whole voice goes into a new setting.
If they were engulfed in Void Energies and sprouted tentacles in their hair, you mean.
You’re right. I forgot about them. But at the very least, those two are not on opposing factions.
As per Ion, Blood elves are High elves. Void elves were Blood elves who left the Horde to join the Alliance. Ergo, Void elves are Blood elves are High elves.
They are in dire need to look as their own people, yes.
It really, really wouldn’t. If what you want is an undead human, human DKs are waiting for you. The option it’s there already, Forsaken do not need to lose what makes them visually unique.
Except that at this point most of the VE aesthetic looks like an edgy knock off of the blood elf one. This doesn’t benefit any side.
So basically, your solution it’s to keep adding to the pile, it eventually will even out?
But it wouldn’t, the damage it’s already done, the cheap knockoff look won’t be removed.
Ergo nothing.
The difference between the words are; and were is important here.
The void elf aesthetic is that they’re Blood elves who use void magic.
How is more customization a bad thing? In exchange for hair colors blood elves get more cool stuff related to them. And that’s a bad deal?
Then Blood elves aren’t High elves and Alliance didn’t take anything from Horde! Glad we got that sorted out. So them getting red/brown/yellow hair isn’t doing anything, since it’s not taking from Horde.
Oh yes because in exchange for what we’ve already lost has been jewelry only one gender can use, we’re really just gonna keep making out like royalty according to you I guess.
Way to jump to the defensive like a typical blood elf. I said in exchange for more new, cool stuff.
I don’t remember caring you said the word exchange.
I pointed out we’ve already lost / shared and nothing has been done in return and you’d have us lose more in the … hopes we get something this time?
Except that they’re not supposed to be just that. If that’s how you see them, then the damage to their identity it’s indeed quite noticeable.
Because there are many races that need those much more.
Tauren females are still stuck with only 3 faces.
LF draenei also got the short end of the stick.
And you and me still suffer from scoliosis.
And even if we focus exclusively on VE and BE, they need options that make them look completely different, instead of what we got that make them look even closer.
But remember, it’s the other people who are greedy/petty
(Commentary): I can only speak for myself but my answer is, no. Nothing really feels lost. Mechagnomes just had a crippling transmog issue resolved. They’re still Gnomes, so it makes sense there are some who haven’t gotten Mechanized far enough to replace both arms and legs.
I’m suggesting a scenario where everyone wins, yes. It’s not a zero sum game where one side loses.
Damage wouldn’t have been done if they just added High elves, but we’re stuck like this.
I know you don’t really read posts you respond to, but I already mentioned that other races should be getting more customization too.
