No Tinker Class, Feels like we need a New Class TBH

Leveling an Alt, at the moment having a lot of fun in the Cataclysm questing zones. They’ve always been a favorite of mine next to Burning Crusade zones.

But it just feels weird that there’s no Technology focused class, especially when so many of these Zones involve Goblins, explosives, and Technology.

Stealing a Samophlange from the Venture Co. in the Barrens.
Meeting the Gob Squad in Azshara, along with all the research facilities, and launching a raptor into space. Piloting a Shredder suit with a grenade launcher around the Forest in Azshara too.
The Twilight Highlands has the Gob Squad show up again.

These are just the instances I’ve encountered TODAY. That doesn’t even cover all the Tinkers we meet in Draenor or Outland.

It just just feels weird, you know?

Imagine playing through both sides of the Plaguelands, but not being able to play as a Paladin. Despite Paladin NPCs being everywhere

Imagine playing through Nagrand, but not being able to play as a Shaman. Despite Shaman NPCs being everywhere

Imagine playing through Mt. Hyjal, but not being able to play as a Druid. Despite druid NPCs being everywhere.

The game would feel incomplete.

I would like 2 new classes in the next expac…

Tinkerer/Artificer
Void Knight

Dude the classes haven’t been Balanced for 15 years, it will never happen.

Says the Paladin.
You have entire zones themed around your class.

Eh… Artificer implies a combination of Magic and Technology.
Original Warcraft 3 Tinkers didn’t use Magic. Just Technology. Same with the Tinkers we see in Game.

The day someone figures out what a samophlange does is the day we’ll get tinkers. It’s a key ingredient.

But it is not this day.

Mechagon and the mechagnomes was the perfect opportunity to bring Tinker as playable class. Maybe in the future, i hope.

Inane nonsensical technobabble is an essential ingredient.

It’s not like they were going to add a class halfway through an Xpac.
But all the assets for the class are already here, Even on the new tutorial zone.

No - we need to sort out the classes so that they serve unique functions - not add a class that is essentially just a fleshed out trade skill.

Exactly and we have seen 2 of the greatest at it released from jails and are free to possibly teach a new generation of folks.

Milificent and Milhouse. Milly is labeled as an Artificer and the blend of tech. and magic would play heavily toward each race having their own cosmetic appearance.

Dark Iron/Dwarves
Gnomish
Goblintech
Draenei
Blood Elven
Nightborne
Lightforged

So many races have unique technology and blending it with magic would be a great way to make each stand out. As well as separating the class from the profession of Engineering.

Okay? You mean like Mechagon?

Would be neat to have a shinobi class, one that ressemble the one in ff or even the shinobis in naruto.

I’m sure most won’t agree but personally I think It’d be neat.

Dragon Class, Tinker feels so boring, think of all the utility that would be stripped from engineers too when they are made, just like DHs took from Warlocks. The way WoW is set up, Tinkers are quite literally engineers.

Paladin was a Warcraft 3 Hero unit.

Paladin = Class

Death Knight was a Warcraft 3 Hero unit

Death Knight = Class

Tinker was a WarCraft 3 Hero Unit.

Tinker = Trade Skill?

Doesn’t add up.

You know, I stand corrected.

There are a lot of races that Mix Technology and Magic. And it would be cool if every race had a unique aesthetic for the Class. Like Shaman Totems for example.

I still think it would be Called Tinker though, considering that’s what it was called in Warcraft 3.

Mechagon, Azshara, Tinkertown, Bilgewater Harbor. Etc.

Lots of Zones with Tinkers. But no Tinker class.

Fixed it for you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yeah Dude. When Enhancement Shamans got added, they had to gut all the utility from Enchanters.

And when Rogues got Poison? Man they had to remove Blade oils from Alchemy.

Oh wait… No they didn’t.

At least have some substantial evidence.

Classes and Professions can overlap. They always have.

I know it. But Blizzard wasted it as side content. They should saved Mechagon for a future expansion, bringing the Tinker class too. But it never would happens, because Blizzard see gnomes and goblins as joke and comic reliefs

I’m not opposed to a Bard class at all.

I’m not against it. It just doesn’t seem as likely as Tinker, Since Tinkers have been around for almost 20 years.
