Yea exactly. Every time you add in another condition that you have to worry about adds an additional challenge. The guy is mad and wants the hurdles reduced to make the content easier. There is nothing wrong with timers added onto content. It pushes people to perform better.
Bring back PvP gearing for PvP and I wonât care what silly thing you do with dungeons.
The only thing I care about is that the content isnât gated. If Blizzard makes it so you need a key to get in, and that keys drop from world quests or dailys⌠well thatâs a deal breaker for me.
Blizzard will never change the basic foundation of M+. Itâs an e-sport now, itâs here to stay for the rest of WoWâs existence. Nothing anyone ever says, no matter how many people say it, will ever change Blizzardâs mind, because the profits they make from the official MDI streams are too great, and not enough people will unsub because a timer exists in M+ like it always has. Itâs here, itâs normal to people, itâs not going away no matter what anyone says or does or feels.
Most mechanics in video games are artificial systems that force complexity, thats pretty much to core of all games.
I dont understand what you mean by gatekeep. Anyone can complete mythic+ it only becomes difficult to complete at higher levels.
An illusion of challenge IS challenge. Anything that makes it more difficult to complete is challenge.
What do you qualify as true challenge?
There is already game content without timers added. The entire point of mythic+ is to beat the timer.
This sounds like walking into a sports shop and complaining that you dont want any sports equipment.
So I ask again, why are you afraid of timers?
Does relax and play at your own pace mean take a bathroom break every 2 minutes? Many people complete mythic+ with time to spare.
Does having a timer make you feel like you have to play differently? I hate to tell you, but that seems to be a personality flaw. Youre doing that to yourself, not the timer.
Itâs not the timers themselves itâs the game style they promote. It doesnât have to be either or just donât make reward structures where people feel that they have to run them to be competitive.
I feel like thatâs a personal problem. No one is forcing people into content or forcing them to be at a certain level to feel better about their progression, especially when these same people arenât going to be entering any content that would require such extreme measures to begin with.
No timers. Who cares how long they wait between pulls, itâs their time to waste. We donât need Papa Blizz to hold our hands. M+ has the timer thing covered too.
Shhh you are disturbing the Calm by remotely referencing him. We all know they are cooking up the post to end all posts at this very moment.
I donât mind timers as long as they are generous. Very generous.
I think there could be a timed mode and regular not timed mode.
Timed mode drops a 2nd item or token but both should have the same ilvl rewards.
Agreed, timers are just not good.
I want the ability to chill out in torghast thatâs the whole point. I want to be able to go afk if I need to or take my sweet time exploring. We already have too many @%#@%@%# timers I donât just want another mythic+.
If they want to limit bloodlust per floor thatâs fine but adding a timer will ruin torghast for me.
Waiting for CDs between pulls is boring for twitch watchers. I promise you thatâs the real issue here.
Which is fine, as long as any kind of soft timer doesnât kick in until youâre up to a level of Torghast that people would actually watch.
Because soft timers that toss more mobs at you the longer you dawdle are so bad.
Do you want to take an hour per floor? Why?
I understand what you mean on this one.
While boss enrage timers I understand, otherwise, I would prefer the timers in the new content they are planning to be limited.
Part of what I dislike about Island Expeditions and Visions is how frantic they feel. While the former does not have an explicit time limit, you still donât have long because the other team is going towards their goal. The latterâs limit can be mitigated with time, but it still gets annoying after a while.
The only timed content Iâm really okay with is Mythic+ and boss enrage timers. Outside of that, I would prefer a bit more freedom in what to do in the content and to be able to take my time if I so chose to.
Theyâre not talking about kicking you out, theyâre talking about sending more and more mobs til you get overwhelmed if you spend too long.
And itâs not just boring for twitch watchers, itâs boring for players. But if its allowed it becomes the proper way to do it and the content has to be tuned around it.
There will be:
- A timer
- A forced farm of currency to start Torghast
- A limited time each day to allow us to farm said currency
- A levelling system to make sure we cannot progress unless we farm more
- Probably a limit to the currency you can hold
What will happen is we will fill up our currency and be forced to do Torghast before we can go farm more currency. This will mean we either miss out on Torghast or the area you need to farm currency.
They need to ensure at a bare minimum any currency is easy to get, and not limited. But it would be best to not give us any currency to farm and just let us go.
K⌠Iâm a mythic progression raider and have routinely earned KSM each season. Heck even this season when Iâm not pushing keys I have multiple +18âs under my belt. I think itâs fair to say that I have a general idea of whatâs entailed when it comes to optimizing around a timer.
I get why theyâre asking for it and if Iâm being honest⌠I donât want a soft enrage timer on Torghast either. Worried people will wait 10 minutes between pulls for lust? Then add a lust cap for each floor⌠Iâd rather the content be about good pull strategies alone, rather than ANOTHER form of content that Iâm trying to zerg as fast as possible.
Because eventually⌠that IS what itâll turn into. Eventually the mob HP pools will be so high, that it likely will be a question of how much DPS can you do to outpace the soft enrage. And quite frankly, Iâm not really interested in that.
Iâm perfectly fine with intra-fight timers (pull a mob, or a boss that has an enrage mechanic). Iâm not fine with inter-fight timers.
Imagine if you were only allowed to raid for 6 hours per week⌠otherwise the raid just locks you out for the week. Do you seriously think that wouldnât change how you approached the content? Do you think ANYONE would be taking breaks during the content?
Intra-fight timer? Makes perfect sense.
Inter-fight timer? We have M+ for thatâŚ
This Alpha Build they introduce a timer a debuff that take 1% of your life every 5 seconds. Every level you ascend it increase. It is only on one set of levels (elemental fire) but it is a timer and it is anoying. If you are playing a class without heal you cant wait. It is not rush, rush but it is bad.
