Then have a version with no timer, obviously the rewards would have to be lower, but hey, it exists right?
Thereâs something else to consider on the whole power reward thing though. It sounds like where theyâre going to be putting these timers in is in the later stages of the tower. At that point, why not just reduce the power gains from that point on.
Theyâve done the same thing with M+. Thereâs a point where the power gains from M+ become negligible. Once youâre past +15, youâre not continuing to push your keys for power. Youâre doing it to see how high you can go. Why not take the same path with torghast. Have it be a linear increase in power acquisition up to that point, then change into a logarithmic power acquisition past that point.
People currently push M+ as high as possible, despite the dungeons almost never supplying actual upgrades. Maybe the upper levels of torghast can be treated the same way?
i hope its gonna be like POTD in ffxiv or tower of heaven from SB. that would be fun
Eh, Iâd rather have a reason to keep pushing higher.
With M+ I have no desire to go past a +15 because it doesnât really reward that much more (specially before the dust crap).
Ironically, both of which have timer lol. I mean, unless you take a dump and make dinner youâll never hit it, but its there.
Limit and Method, the very top of the curve, donât kick people for stuff like this.
They even made it a point to mention no roster changes were made in Legion with the legendary fiascos.
But of course random guild #628 kicks players for 1 weeks worth of progress out of 5 months.
Where are people getting the idea of theyâre adding a timer to Torghast? The whole system is designed so if you canât beat a floor you get beaten to death over and over by the Terragrue until you leave
Ya I guess your right on that. I just refuse to believe that the ONLY way to counter this is by slapping on a timer. I refuse to believe that there is literally no way to create content that cannot be simply overcome by waiting for every single CD every 3 minutes.
Personally, I think respawning trash (with methods to attain perma-death), lust caps, and end-boss enrages would still work. But would love to hear other ideas.
I just donât want M+ 2.0.
Supposedly theyâre adding a soft enrage, to prevent a small margin of players from waiting for every CD possible before engaging every trash pack, so that they go as high as possible in the tower.
Itâs not a âtimer.â Itâs just after awhile, the tower sends a wave of mobs at you. Then another, and another, and another. Until eventually youâre overwhelmed by mobs. I get why theyâre doing it, but I really hate how theyâre combating that playstyle. For me it changes the entire experience.
Tbh I would prefer that the power rewards stop at some point and after that itâs for cosmetics and bragging.
Infinite scaling on power rewards sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Timers are a additive that makes content harder. But you donât need that additive for things to be hard.
I wonder what would happen if they randomly messed with your 2ndary stat levels on each floor. How many min-maxers would flip out?
The thing with Mythic plus is that once you have the layout down, and you know all the tricks and how to handle the affixâs it is all just a formula after that. Do the formula right and you win and complete in the time that was again pre-formulated by Blizzard.
This tower is going to be different, itâs going to require you to make up the formulaâs as you go along. You canât really slap a average timer on this because it will change with each class and each spec and each level of that tower. So timers canât be applied here, (unless itâs on single encounters on each floor.) Blizzard needs to apply difficulty with the other tools in itâs tool kit.
I hate timed content so much.
Same Iâm going to skip any times content haze zero to little interest in this type of content.
Spelled backward for a better understanding:
participate to REFUSE will others many and I, do you if. content of piece this to timer a add NOT DO repeat I, NOT DO
Limit and method arenât every guild out there, a lot of guilds canât afford to take someone to a boss who is missing something like a legendary BECAUSE theyâre not limit or method.
And I would rather they keep going because I want a reason to do it. I donât hate on people who play for cosmetics, but itâs not something I do things for.
But apparently these guilds DO have an infinite pool of great players of various classes where they can kick and replace effortlessly?
Infinite scaling leads to these issues.
Itâs why mythic+ stops scaling power rewards.
Itâs why visions end at 5 masks.
Why raids end at mythic.
Etc.
Infinite scaling screams cheesing/meta pushing by its nature.
Iâve never been in a mythic guild that doesnât run a roster of 25-30
Cool, so the constant roster boss complaints are all fake right?
Guilds have so many mythic raiders lined up recruitment is a breeze.
M+ actually keeps scaling power rewards right now. A +20 will get you a lot more dust then a +15
I want a reason to keep pushing.
