Take away the bonus rewards of rdf and this woukd be true.
But with the 2 bonus enblems a day tied to it, it isnt true. It wasnt an option because those bonus emblens are current raid teir quality. And if you wanted the perky pug or sumilar rewards you also had to use it.
Its not an “option” when the rewards it offers durectly effects progression in gear, character power, exc.
So i will say this again.
If you want a system that is purely an auto group system, i will support it. But no bonus rewards, no cross realm, and no teleport.
If you want it ourely for that auto grouping this should be a perfectly acceptable compromise between the two groups as it removes the most danaging parts in the eyes of most of the anti rdf group, and gives the most important part of what the pro rdf group wants.
Or do you want it for something other than auto grouping?
And you got it in Classic Era. A large part of the player base has been waiting for Wrath as it was. A middle ground between where Vanilla started and Retail went. You have your “Vanilla concepts” instance. It’s Classic Era.
That’s both the Vanilla players and the Wrath players, but now they’re going to lose a lot of players for who TBC was simply the Wrath waiting room. I know players who’ve already unsubbed because they got their SWP done and they’re already sick of the changes even though Wrath was the expansion they were waiting for.
You are the J. Allen Brack of Wrath. No thanks will be given.
This is more than #SomeChanges. This is #VanillaInNorthrend which will damage the game for the majority of players. Realm Locked RDF is some changes. No RDF is gutting a signature element of the expansion.
That’s the precisely key element that everyone wants. Teleports, extra loot, repeating Heroics, are all optional elements. Cross realm should be off the table because it’s the part that caused what people call the downfall of community. Forming groups manually is not community. It’s an annoying and often toxic activity that precedes the enjoyment part, in the dungeon. There’s no social fabric to what happens right now anyway. No one makes friends while trying to find a tank.
Auto grouping removes the toxic elements, the gatekeeping and the need to churn through the LFG chat which is 99% politics or toxicity. People can get on with the game instead of hanging out in Dalaran waiting for an invite and gear check. It frees the players to just throw their hat in the queue and continue playing.
And Realm Locked RDF will make the game more social by randomly matching people on the same server, exposing people to others who they can play with tomorrow, but would otherwise never meet. And because they are likely to see them again, behave no worse than they are now or would under LFG attempts.
Sure and if LFD was actually the most efficient tool to min max dungeon grinding that would be valid. But it’s not, the best way to maximize dungeons is still to preform your group.
Yes Elorael… we’re on the WoW forums… we’re here to share our opinions.
And we will be getting it again in Classic Wrath.
How much is a large part? If anyone thought we were getting Wrath as it was after seeing how Classic and Classic TBC panned out, I have a bridge to sell.
I’m not convinced of this – even those seemingly against the changes are still here.
And I know players who’ve already resubscribed due to no LFD.
Oh my, the drama! Faints
It will damage the game for those that never wanted a Classic experience in the first place. Yes, we’d agree on that. Whether that’s the majority or not, neither of us know.
You keep using that word, yet you clearly don’t understand that Classic Vanilla and Classic Wrath are different experiences, with very different designs, concepts and goals.
Vanilla WoW, as it was, is better suited for the goals that the Classic franchise set out to achieve, which is why it saw barely any changes.
TBC saw some changes, as it deviated just a slight bit more away from the goals of the Classic franchise.
WotLK, if left unchanged, would be an irrepairable divergence away from the experience the Classic franchise is trying to bring us.
This is what you seem to be failing to undertsand, Elorael. These games are different experiences due to their content, but overall, Blizzard is delivering us a Classic experience all-together, with shared goals, concepts, and designs. The core values of Classic have been consistent throughout.
This is the problem. People who believe this is a good thing are going to destroy Wrath for those who enjoyed Wrath. If purpose is #VanillaInNorthrend, they’re going to turn away both sides of the coin. People who don’t like Wrath for all the “convenience” and “balance” is brings because there’s still tons of it, and people who want Wrath for all the “convenience” and “balance” it brings, because they’re removing some of the key features of that design paradigm.
They’re positioning themselves where they satisfy no-one except maybe you, but you personally won’t pay for all the lost subs.
