No Rational Explanation For AV Win %

I think if we had more opportunities to win, instead of being chased down into the cave, there would be more competition overall.

I do not agree. Every alliance joins the game with the hope of victory. Out of 10 games, I have won once. Its not impossible to win as some alliance would have you think, but it is highly dependent on us capping a graveyard outside of SPGY and SHGY. Once we die, and no graveyard is established (other than SHGY or SPGY) it is too easy for horde to choke us out.

It is that simple. If 20-25% of your team is AFK, you are not going to win much. Start reporting your own team before asking for changes to the map.

Its a bit more complicated than that though. The real problem is what caused them to afk in the first place. I believe it is related to starting positions and map geography which horde can manipulate against alliance easily.
edit: If i did that your queues would also shoot up an additional 25%. Not a good solution at all. Kind of like blizzard updates…

Once alliance lose shgy they know what’s next. They will be pinned behind iwb while horde rack up the honor. It’s demoralizing when that happens over and over.

That’s just one more advantage for horde reaching stone hearth at the same time. If horde lose the clash at stone hearth they res at IBGY and try again. They lose nothing. If alliance lose at stone hearth they res at SPGY and are stuck there. They lose everything since they will not recover being pinned on their own side of the map.

Except in the vanilla (pick any version), Alliance won by a large majority of the time.

so what you guys are saying is that Alliance players are far more likely to quit/AFK when the going gets tough than Horde. I do agree with that.

Whether this is true or not has yet to be proven, but vanilla horde did not play the map the same as horde do in classic or the same thing would have resulted. I think that’s obvious.

Right. Horde didn’t spend years in retail losing AV because they had given up. Nope. Never happened. Stop making this horde good alliance bad and listen to logic for once.

They would be more likely to compete if they had a chance of success.

not going to happen the dfference is you are not ridding the coat tails of premades.

Again, a good portion of your team is AFK, that makes the Alliance bad. Stop claiming the poor demoralized Alliance players. Alliance is not that that soft. Asking to change the map is simply enabling poor behavior. The portion of the players AFK for easy HP. The faster it is over, they move onto the next.

You should be asking Blizz for more tools to prevent AFK’rs. Alliance running in full team mode instead of 75-80%, and you will likely have Horde complaining about an unfair advantage.

Who is enabling it? I am simply explaining why alliance have given up. Horde would do the same thing. Past history has proven that. You’re incapable of looking at the larger issue because you’re stuck on horde good, alliance bad.

Alliance want a reasonable chance to win and they don’t have it on this map.

and i am saying they haven’t given up, but that the Alliance is plagued with players intentionally targeting easy HP through fast queue’s, AFKing, and quick losses. Goes back to the imbalances issues no doubt but changing the map is not a solution.

Gotta agree here, out of all the AV matches I’m not seeing alliance try anything different from a strategy/tactic perspective. The irony is that early on with the premade meta alliance were on the forums with the same statements we are making “adjust strategy, play some defense, git gud.” Now here we are where nothing has changed with the map, yet alliance cannot find a way to win? The original zerg meta showed you could have a pretty solid win rate if you just did that again.

The reason you are getting pushback isnt because of ppl being so faction focused, it is because so far the changes made to the game have been to prevent exploiting and keeping a fair ground for how the game was intended to be played. Feels like everyone wants participation trophies with this concept that everything in classic should be perfectly even or their perspective of even. The statistic of loss rate seems to ignore all factors and people claim “there must be a change!” Why? If someone sucks at soccer do we say ok, you keep losing so we will now give you extra points or change the position of the enemy goal so it is better for your win rate? NO

you will have to wait for longer in Q if the imbalance persists

Man this makes me happy. NOTHING is better than an alliance /cry on a burner toon.

If your position is that AV should remain unchanged, then you must believe Horde is 99 times better than Alliance, as indicated by the win rate. This seems pretty unlikely.

I would argue that the alliance probably is worse than the horde at PvP, but that the current state of AV does not accurately reflect how much worse they are.

I would accept winning 40, 30, 20% of the time. I do not accept the very real possibility of becoming exalted with Stormpike Guard before winning a single battle.

I don’t know, I think for whatever reason alliance doesn’t even try to win.

Every game people run to SHGY and stop and sit their and wait for horde. I genuinely don’t see how that’s a winning strategy. We can talk all we want about map advantages, but I think the truth is just that the alliance doesn’t even try to win.

Would horde still have a higher winrate? Maybe, I don’t know, but it just doesn’t make sense why the alliance plays what we do. And any time anyone asks a question about why we’re doing it this way, people just get flamed for wondering why we’re not trying to win.

I think there’s a lot of things to play, and something that no one really considers is that AV is currently the best way to farm honor, so you got a sizeable amount of players in every game who don’t care about winning, and only their honor per hour.

Instant queues probably aren’t helping. Whenever it looks like a real game the alliance eventually back down and afk while the horde push to stay in the damn bg to farm rep and honour.

It’s probably still more efficient to spam losses in AV than win one game every 1-1.5 hours.
