It still doesn’t add up. Maybe the first few games didn’t do microtransactions very well. There are only 4 on the list of top 78, and it still doesn’t get them into 2nd place. ($8,208,200,000.00, BTW for these 4)

As a Troll player and a Roleplayer I feel both cheated and disappointed. Developers: Here you go have some fresh skin tone and warpaint and a Venusaur haircut.
This is the same case with worgens. The “new” fur colors we have now, I have a screenshot from way back in the 8.2.5 ptr where a friend was showing me he found a texture file for the white worgen and the brown/black fur color. Weirdly enough we never got the full black one that was also in there.
I hope us worgens get more than just recolors of stuff we already have. We were left the most disappointed out of all the core races. Just 6 new fur colors if you’re a worgen dk like me. I don’t even get the new eye options.
The dream is EVERY core race gets as many options as orcs, night elves, and humans do.
They are fine with what they added in they say… look at how bad worgens have it out of all the core races. Kul’tirans and void elves have more than us, and they didn’t get anything new aside from void elves.
I’m not going to stop beating the drum for worgen to get a properly revamped model where the mane isn’t replacing their actual skulls, so worgen hair styles can be a thing. It’s unbelievable that they redid the models and left that lazy shortcut in place (presumably so they could disguise how ridiculously long the back of the worgen female’s neck needs to be, due to the head-forward posture).
Best we can do is just keep on talking about this and hopefully Blizzard might reconsider. Like, hell, surely a couple of new customizations for each race every patch wouldn’t be as MUCH work as 6-10 new options? Hell, 2-3 each would be reasonable enough? And surely they could reach out to the those in the community who’ve shown interest in designing their own customization options?
It’s weird not to team up with those people. Bring them on board, Blizz!
You’re right. I’m taking a break from the game aside from logging in a couple times for my guild, to maybe roleplay, but am not doing current content. It’s a good idea to keep giving suggestions. Maybe we’ll be heard, and maybe they’ll change their minds. They did with a few things in the past, so who knows. Though I still am pretty down about not having much to look forward to over the next couple years.
Legion, I actually loved the story and had fun in the game.
BfA at least provided allied races to be excited for.
Initially I was excited for customization in Shadowlands, but that went down the drain when I realized my favorite race(blood elves) got some really terrible (personal opinion) jewelry and nothing like scars or arcane tattoos. The new content presented just doesn’t look fun at all, and I hate the story (I have since Shadowlands dropped -.-). Looks like we’ll all be playing the long game.
Yeah I’ve got some friends who also have issues with the story, one who can’t stand the gameplay at the moment for some of the classes (Demon Hunters specifically, he mains a Demon Hunter), I have my issues with progression in general this expac; especially with PvP though overall progression just doesn’t feel nice.
Having customization options to look forward to actually helped me feel like my time playing this game still had some worth outside of RP. Now it’s just RP. I do enjoy RP, and I doubt I’ll quit the game, but it’s such a weird and frankly stupid decision to just …abandon working on customization options for the rest of the expansion. Given how long expansion cycles last, that’s a RIDICULOUS waiting time, especially since members of the WoW community have shown they can make options for customization without too much time investment at all. Again, it’s weird that they’ve not been approached for a position in Blizzard, or at least been given a chance to co-operate with Blizzard’s art team on making these things happen in WoW.
It’s possible they’ll change their mind. I hope they do. Not all of the upcoming changes coming with the patch look very promising. I don’t think it’s going to be a -bad- patch but, mostly it seems like it will just be more of the same. Which is frustrating, admittedly.
The long game is very likely, when it comes to customization options. It shouldn’t be that way, definitely not for a company as big as Blizzard Entertainment… but hey, we’ll see what happens. As long as it’s always talked about, right?
Not to mention the worgen female necks are broken because of that. Even with new models they look very unnatural.
For Tauren it makes sense to have such a necks since they’re bowine species. But for worgen is just beyond weird.
They basically said they are happy with what they already gave. Even though they sort of promised more to come. The lawyer talk made it sound like it was during shadowlandss after the first patch. In blizzcon they said not in shadowlands. So in can be 2-3+ years before we hear anything. And the next expansion isn’t even guaranteed. It took like a decade for these customizations to come out in the first place. It was greatly disappointing.
It’s really not good. Something must be really wrong somewhere for them to drop the ball like this. HOPEFULLY they pick it back up but …I don’t know. So many bad, terrible decisions by Blizzard Entertainment lately.
I don’t know if I’d call the next expansion into question but 3 years is a long, long time for an expansion like this to wear people down. No customization options at all? And that’s assuming that’s the only disappointment of the expansion. I’ve heard Arms WArriors are getting buffed AGAIN which… from what I’ve seen of how they perform in PvP, isn’t uh. Good, for the other classes. They’re already scarily powerful!
Its hard not to think this might actually be what finally grinds WoW to a halt. Not kills it just …stops everything dead and really puts it in ‘maintenance mode’.
Or maybe it will die. Who knows? If Blizzard at least fixes all the other issues with this expansion…
Yeah, and nevermind customization/Allied races being out of question now for this expansion (before someone screams at me with "BUT THEY NEVER SAID ALLIED RACES WILL NOT BE ADDED, if they can’t even work on a few more hair, tattoo options, and accessories, they’re not working on a new race), the story is just… ugh.
Like personally I want to go back to Azeroth and fight the scourge. They made Uldum & Vale current content in 8.3. I’d actually care and go fight/do dailies for rewards and story, or whatever, if we returned home to fight in Northrend. I don’t care about this stupid Shadowlands conflict, the stupid maw, and the stupid Jailer.
Why do we have to fix everyone’s issues constantly? I’m horde and I never followed Sylvanas and her nonsense with the tree, and in fact sincerely hate it still. Obviously the ‘races’ (which are just other souls turned into something else)… in shadowlands have had issues for who knows how long, so they shouldn’t be begging for help, and should shape bloody up. Meanwhile, those of us who want to help our world should be able to.
I’m a Death Knight. I’m meant to fight the scourge. The scourge are rampaging. They open up access to all DK for ARs, and for what? To be pretty for a half hour of an intro everyone wants to skip (because it’s terrible) and then not get anymore story or return to fight the scourge?!
Some fanmade customizations using assets already ingame. It is really impressive. Sad that blizzard couldn’t bother to put more customization during shadowlands.
It cannot be that more than 15 years they ignore this appearance of the undead, seriously, you think I’m an idiot Blizzard? they put skin to some necrolords and the new Forsaken for a political reason.
That is why Blizzard gave a Backslash to the community, it is not because of the experience that the game is needed, it was all a political method and without sense of customization.
