No New Customizations is the "Don't you guys have phones" of 2021

I don’t care what people do as long as it isn’t taboo/horrible like the second part of that statement. Couldn’t give less of a fel. I don’t care for any of that. If people are seeing those events, then they need to report them and bring it to the attention of the administrators there.

But that’s just being ridiculous and nearly exactly like me saying: “All raiders are racist/toxic/elitist” based on a few.

Also… I’m not taking the word of white knights wanting to paint the entirety of one community as that way. So yeah, go off and be toxic someplace else.

If you think people should avoid that game because of toxic parts of the community? Well look at certain parts of Moonguard and pretty much everyone else in this game. I’m entirely capable of blocking those I don’t wish to play with and will be enacting that ability wherever I go.

  1. I have never made accusations about FFXIV I just quoted some folks who have.

  2. I am not saying FFXIV is worse than WoW in the PVE and PVP departments I am just saying form what I heard it lagging behind in the RP department.

  3. If you have evidence to the contrary you are welcome to post it and yes I am well aware of the Toxicity of MG but from the posts I have seen FFXIV is a lot worse again if you have evidence to the contrary you are welcome to post it.

That’s fine. I thought you were building it as ALL of them being bad in your post.

As for what I’ll be doing, I’m just going to be sticking with my guild for the most part, who are swapping to that game. I haven’t been playing much of either game at all, so I don’t know.

Are multiple people saying this from outside of the WoW community, though?

I’m going to be flat out honest. I loved WoW, and its story prior to Shadowlands. I was incredibly attached to it, and RP, and had a ton of stories going that I really did enjoy when it comes to RP in this game. And so it sucks to just… up and leave. But I just am not happy anymore with the game. Maybe I’ll come back in a couple years, we’ll see.

As for FFXIV community, I’ll just hope in that case that you’re wrong, and if you aren’t, I’ll be disappointed…

…but use the ignore button.

A lot.

Edit: Ok, prior to BfA. But BfA I adored the zones a lot, not the main campaign. Like Zuldazar, Vol’dun, Nazmir on Hordeside, and even the Alliance stuff side even though I main horde.

Yea I am not here to be toxic I just notice you are from WRA and you mentioned RP I just wanted to point out as an RPer its very likely you are not going to find what you are looking for on FFXIV sadly.

That’s fair. Sorry for taking it the wrong way, that was very much my bad.

I just am so frustrated. I will admit. :frowning:

Edit: And yeah I’d be looking for intensive character building stories, maybe some slice of life, but I like a mixture of battle RP and stuff that strikes emotion, like in a novel. I love character building.

Yea to be honest RP is what blizzard has been doing right so far and if you stuck around for that long just for that than again you are probably not going to stick around on FFXIV.

Yeah, despite the drama in the RP community (and trust me. There’s a lot on WrA, but that’s not really anything new), it is very strong. I’m seeing a lot of roleplayers I played with on a regular basis with story/plot building heading out, which is why I’m also up and leaving most likely. But if what you say is true, then the break might be shorter.

I’m not going to trick myself into thinking it’ll be a perma-break, because I doubt it. But I guess in a couple years I’ll return if they look into feedback. sigh

Well I heard there are some good RP communities in the many Survival RPGs out there.

Yeah I am a strict fantasy player though, I will admit :stuck_out_tongue: It was hard getting over the off-ness of FFXIV. Though I do know some are moving to ESO, but that combat is wonky (from what I’ve heard).

I was looking forward to VtM Bloodlines 2 buuuut… .-. (also not an MMORPG but still)

There are a few good fantasy survival RPGs you just have to look for them.

For example Last Oasis focuses more on melee combat.

I feel like they’re in a no win situation right now, due to the pandemic. actual sl content is basically delayed, if they put resources into more customization it’d only delay more content and the pb would be vocal about that.

If true, that’s not hard for them to communicate. Everyone would be far more accepting of that explanation if they came out and stated something like…

"Hello Warcraft Community,

To address growing concerns about Heritage armor and more customization in Shadowlands, we’re giving you all an update on upcoming plans for the future. As the pandemic continues and we continue to find new ways to create content for the players, being able to create content at a rate similar to what was done in BFA has been challenging.

We’ve looked into delegating our departments to be able to get the content in your hands and have found that our attention needs to shift on moving the ongoing story along. We apologize as we know plenty of players have been looking forward to new armor appearances to represent their faction and race but at this time we want to make moving the Shadowlands story forward a priority.

In the future we will be adding new Heritage armor but at this time, our focus is making sure you all aren’t waiting extended periods of time than intended.

Stay safe and we’ll see you in the Shadowlands!"

Now will there still be people that complain, yes. But at least there’s an acknowledgement that the players wishes are something that Blizzard’s listening to instead of brushing them off. This isn’t a good look for Blizzard.

Yea but they do not want to look weak in front of the stockholders.

Instead they look weak, and very unreliable, before the eyes of the people paying for their game in the first place. PvP, last I saw, is still a pretty bad mess because of the absolute cluster of issues that come with having to balance different covenant powers, class mechanics and some other factors in PvP scenarios. Seeing Ret Paladins 3 shot people really opened my eyes.

And now this? It’s not looking to be a promising expansion at all, so far. The story content was fun but my goodness the grind…

Exhausted sigh

You’re absolutely correct. Even if the pandemic isn’t the reason, I think they would have been better off lying saying it was rather than simply saying “no, we’re not doing it, that’s all you get.”

With Ion being a lawyer I just don’t imagine him going too far off-script. I could see it spawning from “polling” indicating that the shareholders find blaming a setback on the coronavirus as weakness and that’s just simply unacceptable to them. Simply telling the PB “no” makes it sound as if we’re in control and everything is fine and intentional.

The Boys have peeled back the curtain to anything I read coming from a large corporation that wants my money.

I am surprised people actually rolled NB, when I got one I froliced around for a bit and deleted it.
Their model is just so terrible, they run in slow mo, gear looks artrocious on them, horrible racials.
I also realized that even if they’d be fixed they’d still look like army of clones.
Seriously kudos to those who chose them.

I am glad I stuck with my Darkspears. They’re in the middle shelf when it comes to stuff they got. But it allows you to make lots of variants.

I like the nightborne culture. The glowing tattoos. When blizzard announced them they said they would add more customization to them. It will be around 5-7 years before they get any though now.

I do like their silhouette. The fact that you can play a nightborne warlock is good since it’s the first night elf model to use it. Generally the males have ugly and old looking faces, the could use a more slender model. Males are lacking in facial jewelry as depicted in some nightborne male npcs. More slender models, and maybe some quad/glute muscle/ fore arm increases to get a more atheletic look.
Males could do better with some smaller noses. And lower face modificatoins such as more slender cheeks, more pronounced fuller lips, and facial metal plate jewelry (mostly around the jaws) that compliments stuff like jawline.

The females are overall in a better place. More accurate bodytype depictions, more young looking face options, nice hairstyles.

Both genders could use more slender eyeshape models.

Overall they could use more then 3 skin tone options. A greater color variance for hair color, more general hair styles. The glowing tattoos are great, I wish more was given. More eye colors would greatly be appreciated. From Highborne eyes, to Nightborne eyes. Felborne inspirited fel variants. Arcane glows. Dark elune glow blues. Silver white moonlight eyes for the night. Maybe an ardenweald/bastion blue. Some light purples/ pinks. Maybe a horde red type of magic eyes when they experience bloodlust O.o

As for unique additions, we could have arcane affected hair styles such as arcane glow, rainbow azerite glow, fel glow/ highlights, blue dragon flight fire blue, arcane white glows. Arcane colored hair as in changing hair colors from arcane variants, to rainbows, to nightish purples and blues.
Arcane tips on fingers and feet, or silhouette border shadings.

As far as transmog armor they could add more nightborne sets, floating leg/foot rings, floating arm bracelets.

In addition to this I would say we get night elf neutral customization like void elves. The moonguard elves could have joined the Nightborne and thus we get nuetral night elf customizations through them and rp as moonguard elves on horde. Another sort of bodytype they could add is undead night elves. The ones that joined the horde under slyvanas.

Well the Op isn’t wrong. They don’t even bother communicating anymore. It’s obvious they just dont care. FFXIV devs talk to the community.

Zandalari could also have a glowing tattoes, and Darkspear has now some great body paint too.

And imo the siluetter looks pretty bad no gear looks good on them, and that is to me a big factor on why I roll characters. Why rolling BGwhen you can be Zanda? Better silluete, better posture, better racial, mogs looks always good on you, and you have lots of option to make each character look vastly different.

Even if they’d add that, the entire Design behind them would make them look alike.

It hit me when I finished the Nitehold raid and I saw all important NPCs standing right next to each other.
They were like anime characters - the only difference was in hairstyle/clothing.
Massive turn off.

The community wants and needs content… they should only focus on content. New hairstyles is not going to retain players when we are facing a 6-8 month content drought.
