No more month to month option?

Is the $14.99/month option gone, or is it just not where it used to be?

It was removed several months ago. You can still buy a subscription month to month at that price, but to buy a block of time, you have to buy at least a two-month block.

Also I’m totally linking Mirasol’s nifty chart to help outline what is available.

sigh

Here I was, looking to at least dip my toes back into classic for a short spell, and I am reminded part of the reason I left in the first place.

You can sign up for a month to month subscription if you’re so upset with a two month block, and then just cancel it after several days. You just need to make sure the payment clears through, and you’ll have that time.

I am still grumpy the forum changes messed up the formatting on the payment table! It is the little things sometimes.

It also does not display in the preview :frowning:

Glad it was helpful though and everyone should feel free to link/borrow it with attribution. (as you did)

fwiw, i typically play month to month and just subscribe and cancel, simply because i find it so much easier to find the subscription area than to locate game time in the shop. i cancel my sub about 30 seconds after i make it and have never had a problem.

We’ve seen that not work well, which is why you’ll see folks more often say to wait a few days for the payment process and then cancel. Glad that it works okay for you, but that probably depends on the bank or payment used. Other people may have to wait a stretch for it to process through.

It is indeed a relative pain to find the game time option.

I am upset that a perfectly fine 1-month gametime option was taken away, I can only imagine for a profit reason.

Well, air your issues on General Discussion, your concerns won’t be heard here by the devs and the higher ups that can affect any change.

They are a business, that is what businesses do. For a company to have gone on as long as they have and never raised their prices in all that time? That says something. If they wanted to change up how people purchased free-standing game time, that is their right. Just as it is our right to choose a subscription, free-standing game time, game time through gold, and all of that. As I said, this has been implemented for several months now.

Go to the bottom of the webpage. It’s the first option for me with the other services.

Your imagination is lazy.

Or … and hear me out here, they chose to make the ‘bulk’ game time option match what is sold in brick and mortar stores (2 month only).
This is not a new change, this is not a bad change, you can still do month to month (as a subscription) and even cancel every month so it doesn’t auto charge so it’s not like there is not a very simple work around.

On top of your excellent point, and i could be misremembering this, they chose to match the EU option, which has been 60 days for a long while.

Like i said i could be wrong, but I seem to remember reading that when the change was announced.

Don’t think it was a long while if the EU had it first. I was buying the 30-day block one at a time on the EU until a few months ago when I was using tokens. This month was the first time I had to buy a 60-day block.

I’ve actually never seen anyone on the forums state that cancelling quickly has caused an issue, while I’ve seen many people say they do this with no problems.

I can agree with the general advice that if cancelling quickly seems to cause problems with your payment then you should try giving it a day or two to process.

I’ve seen it a time or two. Both on the month to month and also purchasing the six month subscription to get the free mount. They cancelled it too quickly and it borked things up. That one wasn’t this recent promotion but one of the ones previously.

You only need to wait long enough for the transaction to process.

And you just need to cancel before it bills again.

OK, I’ll nibble your troll bait.
What reason is there to change it to a 2 month minimum, when single months were working fine?

Edit, and no, I do not buy “to make it the same as the EU”

This merely gave me yet one more reason to not return to the game. Yeah, I could jump through the hoop to start a sub and then cancel it, but quite frankly enough is enough. I’ve had it with this company.

There are multiple reasons. As mentioned by another poster, it makes the available purchase of game time the same as what is available at retailers. It cuts down on the number of options to cut down on clutter. It could tie-in with upcoming options. Internal numbers could indicate that more players are using tokens or are using the buy a month/cancel method to add game time.

To say it’s just because of profit is a lazy answer.

Your snide remarks about Blizzard, in this thread and others, aren’t that far from trolling.

I don’t believe you. If you want change, you need to post in General Discussion as the ones who decide on those changes don’t take feedback/suggestions from the Customer Support forum and the SFAs here are not liaisons with them. If you “had it with this company” you wouldn’t be posting in the forums as often as you do.

To be fair that was me not Ruffle. Ruffle actually came in with personal experience saying I was incorrect.
