"c"ommunism is a great system. "C"ommunism is generally either a dictatorship or oligarchy in disguise. Gotta be clear on this point.
You have that option. Don’t be in my ML loving group, or do and trust that the group values your contributions and will give you loot you want and need rather than your 4th pair of the same gloves.
Personally I think that’s one solution that would solve a major problem.
Actually people can when they realize that the amount of power they have in not participating. If the WoW community as a whole straight up just said they want nothing to do with ML guilds, then they would just fizzle out or conform to what the population wants.
The issue I have for the most part with these discussions are the ghost stories, false claims and flatout misinformation that has been spread about ML. ML was great for progression guilds and it sucks that it got ripped away for 2 expansions and honestly just made the experience not fun.
I’ve heard this argument so much… and it’s just as dumb every single time… all these shows, is that you are out of touch with reality. It’s going to make it harder to find raids, harder to find guilds and just an annoyance… but look dude… if ML, fine… make it harder for the majority because the people who run guilds want their power fix.
Oh goodie. glad that was a productive exchange of information then…
100%. I dont want to control the loot system a group im not in uses. So oddly hypocritical that they say we want to control peoples loot when they are trying to control our loot and they arnt even there.
Probably for the same reasons I’ve gotten thrown in my face when even having the discussion.
“It’s just ML with extra steps”
And if I’m just shooting in the dark here based on what I’ve seen from the Devs and the business model they’ve had for multiple expansions now, my guess is to slow down gear progression so that people stuck with the game longer. But the only thing that it did for me when I was RL’ing was burn me and my teammates out from even wanting to play anymore.
If there was a currency system attached to raiding that guaranteed loot through participation, something like tokens or badges then ML could easily co-exist any raid but since there isn’t then the jackal in everyone comes out when you have that power behind the ML.
Some people can play nice but I feel that just isn’t the case for everyone, be that organized competitive raiders or not. Much of the time when ML is involved I often mentally groan that I have to pretend to be somebody I’m not just to increase the chances of getting loot.
I’ll let them know next time that you think of them late at night.
they probably gonna block you soon. they like to block anyone that disagrees.
It’s really all about control for Holi. has to have a little power trip over others. I think its a way to feel like getting back at those that wronged them in the past.
If you’re in a guild/regular group that you don’t feel you can be normal in… LEAVE.
That is an interesting and tangentially related notion. In what ways do you mean? When I was merc’ing the only thing that mattered to the loot council was my metrics being good (attendance, output, preparedness). The same was mostly true in guilds that I actually considered my home with an added layer of prioritizing the roles that needed the gear to beat the next enrage timer.
