No masterloot please

Seriously? I’ve not stated it 50 times at this point? Because people who crave power usually sit in those raid leader positions, they crave attention and power. To feel power over others… very few people can claim to not wanting that… this is why I don’t feel people can be trusted.

I mean a currency system would be fine, but again I’m not really going to get behind the “everyone starts foaming at the mouth and tackling each other to the ground once loot drops” stance because it’s just not reality. There are a plethora of reasons why in a competitive environment, going nuts over gear will only spell the end of your raid group. Imagine only gearing up your “friends” and leaving others in the dust and you run into a boss that has something along the lines of an AoE nuke mechanic that’s one shotting your players because you didn’t properly prepare.

I’m not refuting that there weren’t players out there who abused the loot system. But the system that Blizzard DID present for 2 expansion and plugged their ears essentially made raiding just unfun for me. Never before in WoW have I felt powerless in helping people in my guild with gear progression.

It’s more complicated then that.

I don’t feel like I have the right to pressure anyone for loot when I earn gravy points by, showing up on time, farming mats, donating recepies etc.

Not interested in playing politics for loot on any level. If I wanted that I’d throw money around at D&D tables just to be OP.

How do you claim to know this?

Every progression guild I was in resulted in the GM going power crazy and snapping.

1: wasn’t asking you
2: anecdotal fallacy (I’ve only seen it happen this way, so it must only ever happen this way)

That applies to pro-ML as well.

Or they enjoy winning as a team and step up as team captain because many people don’t want the headache of coordinating schedules, prepping all consumables, studying the dungeon journal, videos, and streams. etc. Our raid leaders have often been the person that simply had the most spare time during a given tier. We are filthy casuals, but still…

There is a difference between denying somethings happen (anti-ML), and asserting that they are less common than you think (pro-ML)

That makes me sad to hear. I have no doubt that it happens, but it doesn’t seem to be the norm in my experience.

No.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Some players on the pro-ML side would likely have never dreamed of having been loot starved as others.

oh the irony

Yea they seemed more reasonable than others like bloodypaws etc but not so much any more now that they wont even engage in a discussion.

or something like dkp where they can earn points and spend them on the item they really want. if only there was a loot system that could allow such a thing to exist…

“trust me bro”

You seem to be a very positive person who has had a few good experiences. I’m happy for you genuinely. I also just seen so much ugly in people, the greed, the hunger for attention and power. I wish I had your experience, I’d probably see things differently.

They didn’t even read my post prior to finding out that they’re on ignore and just assumed I was some LC member

Get a new crew to roll with. You can join The Unnamed and Friends community and hit me up if you are around when we are raiding :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually took up the RL mantle when I saw 2 of our raid leaders step out for their own personal goals. Essentially saying, “Well I know one person who isn’t leaving, me! (I was also GM) So I guess I’ll be the raid leader”

Watching all of our hard work learning proper loot progression after going through a ton of trial and error in Legion to acquiring our first CE only to have it be ripped away and have serious loot issues in Uldir just sucked the fun out of me. And I hung up raiding for good after that.

Interesting, doesn’t explain the posts from players that have said they know they will be last in line to get loot, and still want ML back.

Whatever helps you sleep at night bud. I don’t care what you think… he had me on ignore far before we spoke, so why should I care abut that person’s opinion. He proved what kind of person he is… blocking someone without even speaking to them? He’s not worth my time.

That’s because they’re in a sheltered environment.

The sad reality is that not everyone gets along or plays fair.

That is true, but you can choose who you associate with. If you aren’t happy with where you are and who you are with move on until you find what you are looking for.
