There is no reason why M+ whatever should be considered the same as a top end raid. They are different.
Clearly, the sole purpose of grouping them together is to pursue the false statement that Delves should get less gear.

Agreed on the point that a Mythic raid should be the top of all.
If you’re a solo player doing only solo content it means that before TWW you did WQs and world boss only for the most part, no raid or M+. With the same playstyle you now have access to more than before. Why complain?
To my knowledge, no one or almost no one who is a solo player, is complaining about how delves are currently. Including me.
Imagine playing the game for the fun aspect of it. Crazy thought, right?
Tell me you’ve never done what you just suggested without telling me.
This is the type of person you’re dealing with:
Incorrect.
IMO - Nerf delve rewards, even a lil, and the community will cry more than the delve vs M+ threads now.
Buff M+ to level of Delve rewards and no one complains EXCEPT about the people geared from delves trying to do M+ which is a skill thing, and personally I am fully OKAY with that.
Were complaining for a good reason. We have been given something nice, which has happened before, and they’re already threatening to depreciate it, shove it into a mythic-prep system and lower the quality of delves based on the belief that we should want to do group content.
Solo content that has been removed or fully ignored and never reused: archeology, pet dungeons, solo challenges, fight club, exploration challenges, treasure hunting and more.
They keep tossing us a bone only to ignore the feature afterwards. It’s not okay.
Honestly you all have $&(@ing lost it
You listed a bunch of stuff that give no ilvl reward and you were happy with them. Now you complain about ilvl reward potentially being lowered.
I can only come to the conclusion that what you want is solo content that gives gear good enough to compete with group content. Which is fine, but in the current delve difficulty setting they would need to make them scale to 50 to justify giving myth track items, or make the current tiers way harder to be comparable to M+. There’s plenty of issues related to gear progression and their related content difficulty and I don’t think using the current M+ model to shape the delve rewards is a good idea. I suspect some things will change in season 2.
Reminder: we aren’t in it for ilvl other than to do delves and solo content better. Also, fight club, archeology in Panderia, legendary skin farming in legion, and solo challenges (like torghast and other SL treasure hunting) did give us ilvl.
So let’s not pretend that the DEPRECIATION I mentioned isn’t a worry.
Here’s a further suggestion, give us sets that increase our damage in a solo instance.
You know, like they did with pvp in order to stop people farming pvp gear just to winmore at pve content.
They can do that, people would appreciate it who are solo players and all those people who “only did delves because of the ilvl” will go right back to hating, but attending, mythics.
That’s just splitting the playerbase even more. Most people do both delves and M+, and the game should be designed around that by making delves give more proportional rewards in regard to their difficulty level (which means drastically lowering the ilvl they give related to their current level of difficulty) and also make them relevant for longer meaning higher ilvl rewards at higher tiers should be made available.
I will never touch M+. It has been a blight on the game and has derailed class design ever since it’s inception. I despise it and hope they stop using it as a metric for design ideas and engagement.
Its funny how their goal with raiding ever since Wrath was to make raiding more accessibele. Eventually that turned into LFR.
With M+ though, its gotten more in-accessible. Maybe some will say gearing for it is easier, but eveything else has gotten worse. It really is a big disappointment on many levels.
Its no wonder players dont want to touch it with a 10 foot pole.
I don’t take issue with the accessibility. I simply think it is fundamentally bad game design right to the foundation.
As someone who AoE tankined through TBC as a Prot Paladin, I rather liked that it was our niche and made paladins fun.
Now… we’re just holy warriors, and we’ve lost a lot of that uniqueness in favour of homogeneity.
I <3 you and appreciate your post so much more than you could ever know.
You’re not an ex-hardcore raider. Disappointed.
