Raids and M+ can have whatever ilvl as long as hard content awards higher vs easier content.
And all gear from outside is downscale appropriately.
Just by touching delves, people don’t get to one-shot bosses for example.
delves aren’t getting a lower ilvl.
blizzard has stated they are happy with the current.
ion does plenty to bash him for without making up things.
That wasn’t stated. What was stated is that they’re happy with Hero Track.
That does not mean “we won’t lower gear from 3/6 to 1/6 heroic, and we won’t nerf end of delve Champion gear.” He was very specific with his words and it leaves the doors open.

After all the back and forth here I will say, for those being genuine and not just trolling, I see a little bit of what they are saying here.
Running delves earlier today on my Boomkin, 610 ilvl doing T8’s there are still plenty of times its not a walk in the park. With a 60 sec interrupt and 90 second dps cd’s there are still plenty of times where if I am not paying attention I can get in some real trouble. Thank god for Well Honed Instincts (not mine, the talent). And I was thinking these people are crazy, sure I didn’t have any deaths but it wasn’t like I can afk the thing.
Then later tonight I go back and run the same delve again, this time on an equal lvl Hunter and I was like “eh maybe they have a point” lol.
So I think the question of difficulty, at least in part, comes down to what spec’s one is running. If you tend to run classes/specs that struggle more with solo content you probably have a vastly different view of delves than if you run classes/specs that breeze through it.
The same delve really can be a night and day difference depending on which class I am playing.

1000000% Agreed. I love delves as a solo player and if they change them or try to tie them to m+ then they’ll lose me and I imagine anyone like me.
Fox m+ if it’s not working. I know they squished the levels and took away the on ramp last expac and that was a bad idea. So go fix that and leave delves alone. If you’re going to do ANYTHING to delves make 9/10/11 worth running.
But don’t mess with the only real gearing option solo players have. I’m fine with being stuck at 619 ilevel. I don’t need the gear chase to have fun…that’s for the mythic players.

When content is gated by ilevel, yes it is.
So content will be scaled less, accordingly.
Ilvl allows you to skip other content, which I don’t think should be an important point for anyone.

Also stated was “we’re happy with how they are now”, which does leave them the option to change them in the future as redoing the ilevel balancing in the current season may be too much of a hassle to be worth it.

Bingo. Once you hear/read what was said, you start to see the myriad of possibilities that can come about from those words. That’s why I created this thread.
The people who are proclaiming that Ion said absolutely nothing will change with Delves can’t see more than 2 inches past their own nose.
If you are interested in solo content, why do you need the equivalent m+ gear? We already get stupidly over powered gear for what the novelty of delves are. Don’t wanna do the harder group content? No biggy. You just don’t get the gear.
Or you can get over yourself and stop crying. Go do your little M+ and let us do our thing.

I didn’t say he did. What he did say was the he wants to make mythics more accessible. And then he brought up the idea that people who like delves would have a hard time making that transition.
I know logic is not part of any discussion because “only direct quotes matter”, but LOGICALLY why on earth would he bring up a mode that is not mythics during a discussion about mythics and comment about how hard it is for delve players to start mythics.
Why would he do that?
You seem to be going with “since he provided no details on forcing a transition, nothing happened” and everyone with common sense who has had solo play options belittled and ripped away from them before wants to let him know mythics aren’t our thing.
