I’m still waiting for someone to put the rio profile of this unicorn delver that jumps straight into +7 pugs. It doesn’t happen, no serious key holder is taking someone with no/low score to a 7 unless it’s a friend/guild/community run.
I would expect most delvers M+ journey looks like mine or my healer(Aelidorina-Stormrage) where I get some decent pieces from delves and then start at 2 and work my score up to 6s-7s. And that in no way is different than any other M+ season except my starting ilvl will be hogher(relatively) to the ilvl of whatever season you compare.
This whole arguement is sweaties and elitists mad that we can get 610 from a map and 616 from vault. And yeah, it’s ezpz to get undercoin 580 gear, roll into a T8 on a fresh 80 with a level 50+ Brann and steamroll it, maybe Brann is part of the problem.
I didn’t say there would be some who jump ship, but I can also point to several anecdotes of people who simply stopped playing when they could do heroic dungeons and had no interest in doing mythics at all.
I think Ion is truly out of touch with the player. He is in his bubble and only listens to like-minded individuals. How can he assume that people who enjoy solo content will suddenly start participating in group content - when the group content is in many cases, toxic?
I’ve been doing M+ for years, and this season…has been by far the LEAST interesting. None of the dungeons are fun and not enough for me to learn them when you have to consider each of the mechanics that didn’t one-shot you in easier difficulties, will in higher ones.
I play this game to get away from the stresses of life, but this season has decided to include what I avoid when I play video games, which is why my participation in this expansion has been limited lately.
Actually, it does because people do go outside the delve system. They quest. They do dungeons or raids. They just don’t do M+.
To apply your approach, one could have an M+ system with M+1 gear getting ilvl of 1, M+2 getting ilvl of 2 and so on. What would matter if the M+ people don’t go outside M+?
Really, you should just admit that you are pursuing another agenda with these arguments of yours?
I’ve completely geared this character from doing LFR and delves. All my tier gear is heroic quality from the vault. The only issue I’m having is with runed crests. Two per delve sucks
All Blizzard needs to do is keep Bountiful Delves relevant for solo players once they’re kitted out in Hero-tracked equipment.
Increase the middling-tier (Runed in S1) crest drop rates to 3/4 or 1/2 of what you get from a successful M+ run.
Enable top-tier (Gilded in S1) crest drops at T10/T11+ at a 3/4 or 1/2 rate.
Add seasonal vendors who sell upgradeable-to-Myth dungeon drops in limited slots you can buy with Vault tokens so Delvers still have incentive to run them after they’ve exhausted their Hero Vault loot choices. Make these items expensive enough that you can only buy a piece after passing on Vault loot for three or four weeks (e.g. one piece a month).
Admittedly, the M+ dead zone between +2 and +6 might be an even bigger problem with the above approach.
“Enjoyable” is wholly subjective whereas incentives in this game are known quantities. If all else fails, you can dole out gear, cosmetics, mounts, and money.
And that’s precisely what we do not want to happen to Delves. We don’t want Delves to get screwed with just because a few M+ elitists have their fee-fees hurt.
