No Ion, Not Everyone Who Delves Wants to do M+

While I agree with the overall sentiment here, I don’t really think this is quite fair. There is such a disparity in coordination, time, and difficulty requirements to get champion level gear out of a run with hero track gear in vault between a +6 key and T8 delve (closest thing to parity) that we’re talking literal hours of difference for similar reward. Even factoring in the time to earn coffer keys, being able to solo a delve in 30 minutes for a guaranteed piece of gear (with a companion that does eventually become so powerful he can solo the content for you) is hard to pass up compared to needing 45-60 minutes for a single run (factoring in group formation) for a 40% chance at an item in an environment where other players not performing can elongate or possibly even prevent the run from completing at all.

Yes, it’s a mistake for someone who wants to work through keys to completely skip all keys lower than +7 via delve gear. But when considering the time constraints most players are going to face, it’s hard to fault players from doing this given just how slanted the time/reward equation is toward delves, at least until you run out of coffer keys.

You’re right, but this entire post misrepresents this point in the first place. Suggesting there are issues for players who crossover from delves into M+ does not mean all players who run delves want to or will choose to crossover. Even though the players who stick to delves will have no impact on M+, each delve player has the ability to jump into M+ if they want.

Parity is the key word out of everything you said and right now there is no parity between end-game pillars.

The fact I like to highlight is that players were farming D8 with pre-season gear before M+ or raids even opened. Imagine walking into M+6 or 7 with pre-season gear.

If they nerf delves, I’m unsubscribing. I don’t want to deal with the elitist try hards in M+

And you never did have to.

You just have less ilvl, and since you don’t do other content, it doesn’t impact you.

All indications are that delve rewards are either unchanged or buffed. They’re adding 6 gilded crests to the first three t11 delves done each week. There’s also an unconfirmed report that tier 9 and above will be dropping more runed crests. Direct drops and vault unchanged (remaining Champion 3 end of delve and Hero 3 Vault).

Someone in this thread also mentioned there is going to be a way to guarantee a delvers bounty map weekly too but I can not find any info on that.

They are very clearly buffing the content which was the correct approach. With how vague Ion was in the interview it sounded like some major nerfs were coming.

Never did an M+, never will. Delves are fun, though.

I did Mythic for two seasons and I quit for Tww for multiple reasons.
The first was they were a lot of work I had to watch hours of videos for multiple dungeons so I know what I’m doing.
The second was I found them hard I needed too manage weird poorly explained mechanics while avoiding tons of things that instant kill you and people are toxic if you don’t understand something
The third thing was being told you going too make this harder and now groups which were hard too find too begin with are fewer so yeah I’m out going too do raids and delves for fun and loot

Its not a problem at all. Works fine for me. I’ve done all the keys I wanted to do this season, and for all forseeable future seasons.

Unless they are gonna make heroic dungeons a viable reward path to progress to raiding again. Leave delves alone.

M+ is cancer. Its stressful and not fun. Should have never been in this game to begin with. Mythic 0 dungeons should get you the gear to start raiding. Top ilevel gear should be from Raid only. This is how it was for along time.
You want the best gear in the game? Then you raid. thats it

Oh?

Now we’re talking if it’s true.

its true. Its a good step in the right direction

They’re not gonna remove m+ lol

Meanwhile I’m here thinking delves are boring as sin, especially solo. May as well just be playing a game on my PS5 instead.

I don’t want to take anything away from delves, but I do think that M+ rewards from low keys should probably be rebalanced to be comparable. As it is now, delves are the objectively best way to gear up by far until you start running +7 keys.

Right, why are low keys dropping veteran gear while there is farmable heroic from delves, which are easier and take half as much time? It doesn’t make sense. Adding champ and heroic to earlier keys smooths out the progression and makes keys viable for early gearing again.

The low keys don’t drop veteran gear. M+2 drops Champion 1.

Heroic gear isn’t farmable from delves. You get 1 weekly from the vault and maybe 1 per week from maps, if you’re lucky.

The low keys are already viable because a single timed m+4 gives as many runed crests as six t8 delves.

Still too rewarding compared to the alternatives. M0 should give champion if delves do - no reason not to. Maps are farmable therefore hero gear is farmable from delves

Oh, you’re one of those. Never mind me. Continue as you were.

Well here we go again with blizzard trying to shoehorn people into the content path they want people to play instead of making multiple gear paths and people choosing how they want to play, just like how originally M+ was a way to gear into raiding and not its own end game, they want to make delvs a way to gear into M+ instead of letting it be it’s own end game. You would think they would have learned by now to just let people end game how they want.

I’m really not sure how this is the takeaway. Blizzard is making delve loot better in S2. Anyone who was happy with delves in S1 should enjoy S2 at least as much.

But this entire post is making an association that simply didn’t exist in the first place. Ion mentioned how players are running delves to get loot commiserate with low level keys and then attempting mid-level keys they aren’t prepared for. Nowhere was it said that players who want to play delves should go into M+, merely that some elected to do so. It’s also worth highlighting that Ion also indicated in the same interview that Blizzard was happy with delves, but of course that was conveniently left out of this post that misrepresented the situation to begin with.
