No Ion, Not Everyone Who Delves Wants to do M+

Then why don’t you have better gear? I don’t search out alt characters, but 445 is pretty pathetic on a level 70.

Just like you are level 56 and have done nothing in WOW?

Come on now.

And you can see I stopped playing this character in S2.

Something you’ll have to learn to live with.

This guy has 362 posts in this thread alone

Just some context I thought people might want to know lmao

So what if they do lol

This is typically how the game has functioned for forever now. You do lower level content to springboard yourself into higher level content. The only thing that’s changed is now Delves are part of that equation and aren’t even remotely necessary to engage with long-term lol

There is a big difference when the lower level content in question is similar to the higher level content in terms of mechanics, difficulty, and level of coordination. When the lower level content in question is designed to be soloable and is awarding gear closer to the top end of possible gear than the bottom, it’s quite different.

To be clear, I think the solution should be to add some of the lower keys back to M+ so there’s room to put the rewards on similar level of delves, not changing delve loot at all. But trying to handwave away a soloable activity as “this is how it has always been” is borderline disingenuous. The starter gear for all previous higher levels of group activity has historically always been lower levels of group activity.

Who cares? The lower level group activities you’re referring to have almost always been just as low effort as the solo content in question, so why are we trying to parse the differences here as if they matter in the broader scope of the conversation lol

And no, it hasn’t historically always been this way. There have been several expansions where the move was to craft gear because several pieces of crafted gear were considered pre-raid BIS.

OMG why is this thread still going

The highest delve Ive done so far is a few 5’s. More than enough for my level of entertainment. No hard at all. Im just under 600 ilvl on my one character…seems to be more than enough for me.

Id say just dont bother with it beyond what you want to. Dont feel compelled to M+.

It’s not just level effort, it’s in the types of skill needed to succeed. There is a big difference when a significant part of the challenge is coordinating with other players. That challenge is completely absent when the content can be soloed.

Further, the difference in skill required to get through a T8 delve is miles away from the skill required to get through a +7 key this season; yet that’s the level of key you have to run to get upgrades compared to delves. Most of the times the difference is far more modest than this.

Even the cases where there were crafted items, they never accounted for more than 2-3 item slots. You certainly weren’t going to be able to get your average item level anywhere near the ballpark where you could expect to be successful from the up to 3 pieces of gear you might be able to craft.

Wow… topic still going I see…

Anyways, Gilded has already been datamined to be dropping in T11 come S2 so whatever fixes Blizzard has for their lower key issue must be resolved on M+'s end(As it should) which they’re already aware of.

Or they have just given up on M+! That works, too. But still, I don’t believe they datamined the specifics of how you get gilded stash in delves. Might be a weekly or even one time chest for all we know.

I see it being a weekly at best, Blizzard definitely not gonna kneecap M+. :joy:

Yeah, I could also see it being just the first time you complete each story at 11. Just a moderate stash of crests that motivates you to do every story at least once and not stick strickly to the easy ones. (Looking at you, Underkeep!)

It looks like you get 6 gilded crests per gilded stash with a weekly limit of 3 stashes. There also appears to be some kind of deterministic way to get a single delver bounty loot chest per week. Between the two that would guarantee a total of 21 gilded crests per week.

That should be enough to keep delvers busy for the season without crippling m+.

Oh, neat. All that sounds good. Must have missed when that got found/announced. Where did you find it?

I don’t think they announced it but Wowhead has some of the datamined info listed under 11.1.0 ptr.

The tooltip for “gilded stash” mentions the quantity and weekly limit.

There is also something called “Bounty’s Remnants”. It looks like something you collect 100 of per week that gets you a bonus chest.

Fascinating. Season 2 is shaping up nicely. Thanks for the info, though. Can’t get myself to sift through all the datamined stuff.

Basically similar to Coffer Shards

Blizzard is really cooking with Delves next season.
