I don’t particularly care about multiboxing, but /focus is very useful to average non-multiboxers.
IE: there’s a big pull, you assign CC, setting your cc as a /focus target is very useful. Since this was also possible in vanilla via other means, but won’t be possible in classic at all, it would make more sense to include /focus in the baseline game since they’re unlikely to change the API in a way that would make it workable via macros or addons.
Laziness is irrelevant. You could do it in vanilla and every version of the game up to and including BfA.
There’s no reason to make classic unique in its inability to set a focus target.
And? Post count doesn’t really matter when it’s you vs. the world.
Notice there aren’t a lot of people in here supporting this? It’s because very few people actually care about the scripts you are trying to use. Most of the responses are anti-multi- and dual-boxer because many people look down on it.
There’s also the fact that you aren’t being prevented from dual boxing.
Since the real reason I want focus back is raid healing, I’m ok with shade on multi-boxers, but I’m fairly certain the focus removal is an oversight due to not considering the combined effect of Vanilla API vs Retail API.
So if they ban all multiboxing in any form and give me back focus, I’m good with that. This is just the trigger post that allow the issue to be more visible.
I fully support there being an ability to create focus targets.
It’s not just multiboxing. I’ve used focus macros for lots of things throughout WoW. As a druid I use focus for at least innervate and CC.
Shame that this “real reason” is buried under sentiments about dual boxing and ultimatums of unsubscribing (which at this point I don’t really believe anyway because dual boxing is still going to be advantageous).
Did you see the other posts I linked, where talking about the issue got a collective ‘meh’ from people who didn’t understand it? This post is 300 replies in and going strong.
As long as the issue gets the attention it deserves, Blizz can make their own mind up on the effect. If they don’t put focus back in, I’m sure someone will find a hack around it, but when a bunch of healers start raiding and realise its gone, the feathers will fly. I’m just trying to get it fixed before release.
You made the wrong play. A collective of reasons in your original post would have been better. Casually mentioning the “real reason” after hundreds of comments isn’t likely to get any traction.
