I can’t post in the Beta test, but can someone tell him that Focus was removed because it wasn’t in Vanilla, but the methods used in Vanilla were removed because we’re getting the modern API.
Basically Blizzard screwed us.
Should be simple enough to create an addon for that, right?
Nope. Focus is a named Unit ID so without the Unit ID you can’t do anything, because the modern API won’t allow us to create new Secure unit IDs.
Hrm. I think focus was a tbc thing wasn’t it?
It was. As a replacement for removing our ability to make them ourselves.
But since we can’t use the 1.12 method or the 2.0 method, we’re screwed.
I use focus a lot. That said, blizzard didn’t “screw” anyone by removing it.
We had it in Vanilla. We had it in TBC.
Now we have neither. How is that not worse?
We had it via addon. That’s different than “it was in vanilla”
And we can’t add it by addon any more.
And so the list of changes adds up more and more…
Really goes to show how terrible acti-blizzard is.
Modern Blizzard is really struggling to re-release a game they released 15 years ago it seems.
Warts and all, but not some warts.
Weird attention to detail to recreate some bug no one cares about, but let’s fix these bugs we do care about.
Progressive raids and some items, but not itemization.

Like deliberately saying screw it to no changes by removing the ability to purchase unarmored mounts from classic.
