Yeah, I never played EQ, but I did play other MMOs before WoW, where it was also done that way.
Being able to use a macro to resheep an add.
Being able to use a macro to counterspell the guy just off my screen while dodging bad and pew pewing.
Setting my oh crap macro for the tank so I can DI with one hit.
This will probably mess up a few healing addons as well, don’t some of them use the focus scripting?
Fez did you make the beta cut?
Not in BETA. I refuse to pay the sub for an inferior product just so I might get a chance to BETA test.
Not worth the price, IMO.
Good for you. I salute your stand. I been trying to tell these kids to get off the mtx. It has brought us to where gaming is today. Mtx cash grabs>engaging gameplay.
Good ta see ya around though buddy. I really do have to crash. Take care.
Dude, you didn’t even read the thread, a GM told the OP that he didn’t get banned for multi boxing or using isboxer but for using other third party software that the OP was omitting, the OP was lying.
I’m not in beta either. TBH I kinda don’t want it; I’ll probably get too attached to my testing character.
I’m only subbed because it’s a six-month sub and I don’t want to waste time adding my credit card information on launch day.
The odd level metas are neat, though. I love Scarlet Monastery, so seeing it as the endgame is cool. Too bad they can’t wear any of the Cathedral stuff yet, so they have no reason to farm it until the cap is raised.
Next stress test goes to 10, only 42 hours from now, so hopefully the beta level cap will be raised while it’s down for the active portion of the stress test.
We shall see!
Oh, you have to play legitimately now like everyone else? How horrible that must be for you.
Ya or play split screen. Or have the unpartied high level healer on a 2nd monitor.
Ugh. They’re a multiboxer, too?
Oh no, you have to actually interact with other people in the game to do quests or dungeons like literally everyone else! What a tragedy…
Again, the passive-aggressiveness is not doing anyone any favors, people…
I subbed for fun. Got a stress test beta and got to play for a couple of hours later after the test.
It’s $15. People act like that’s an astronomical fee. Guess we’ve gotten into the days of “P2W” and “F2P”. Always enjoyed the flat fee of WoW’s sub with the consistent content from Vanilla to Wrath and even fairly consistent post-Wrath. I work a full-time job with an okay salary so a little out of my pocket isn’t going to hurt. I would gather either some are younger without jobs or older with minimum wage jobs so it makes it hard to convince yourself to pay the sub fee. To each their own, but the shot at a beta was worth the price of a decent dinner out for two.
That 6-month sounds good and bad. May have to pick it up once I Classic launches!
Bad news is it’s like $78 up front.
Good news is it actually saves you money in the long run because it comes out to $13 a month instead of $15. You just pay for all the months at once.
I only recommend it if you have faith you’re gonna enjoy the game though.
But hey, that’s a lot better than the sub price back in 2005 which when inflation is taken into consideration was like $20 a month, not including picking up the physical disc. A $13-15 monthly fee with no other strings attached or services luring you into spending money is a pretty good deal.
12.99, which rounds up to 13.
Just like the 15 is actually 14.99
Does /assist not work? That is all I do.
I’m not a hardcore multiboxer, just going to do it while leveling a paladin and warrior together. I used a single follow/assist macro and turned on attack on assist. Maybe but should play with BFA macros to see what works.
No, he got banned for using third party software. Not “other” third party software. The bit the guy was lying about was that a GM had previously told him it’s ok.
Poster: before I even used it in game I check out the site and even did a live chat with a gm last year. he said it was ok to used.
GM: It appears that you have already received a few reviews on the account action. The actions taken on the account will stand. I would recommend taking a hard look at any programs you have installed on your computer that run when World of Warcraft does. Remove anything and everything that appears suspicious or that directly interacts with World of Warcraft.
GM: To be clear, this suspension was not for multi-boxing or carrying people through the arena. Be very choosy in the programs you download and install that say they relate to World of Warcraft.
That’s pretty much saying that yes ISBoxer got him banned, but he’s lying when he said that he was told it was ok and he’d checked to see that its ok.
The GM never said ISBoxer didn’t get him banned and specifically says to remove any and all applications that interact with WoW.
You can only use unit IDs (player, party1, party2 etc) with Assist in combat, outside of your group. So you can’t use /assist random other player, but inside a battleground, all players are “in your group” so they work. You can’t use Focus in world PVP to keep track of an enemy during combat either.
Basically focus doesn’t stop any of the 5 mage fireball antics in or outside of a battleground, but it interferes with healer macros, CC macros, and one of the specific cases of casual levelling that I use it for. All the things that multiboxers do that people hate, they will continue to do just as easily because they don’t use focus. Healers are the ones most hurt by this as I’ve posted in other threads.
And this isn’t a whine, its specifically that there’s no point having the 2nd account for me, if it doesn’t work. I don’t alt-tab, I have a second PC (my general server box) that the 2nd account runs on, and it’s by and large headless.
So if this isn’t adjusted so that either the Vanilla model (not expecting it) or the secure frames model, works like it did in Vanilla, I and many others will be cancelling their second accounts. Its simply a financial statement to Blizzard. If they don’t change there isn’t a question of continuing to have it.
