No Focus Unit = Unsubscribing 2nd Account

They add up.

If focus target has been disabled, I see no need to re-activate my second account.

The simple built in macros I keep posting. No addons required.

About to crash. Read this whole thread. Funny people lost their minds over a water change a few months back or any suggestion to change anything really but because this is tied to multi-boxers this change is fine. Lol.
To be honest I’m not thrilled with the new macro system. Happening regardless but it’s still a different experience than vanilla was for those who used macros. Is what it is.

There’s a work around for OP’s situation though. Isboxer makes it easy to switch the lead toon iirc. Won’t stop me either way. /shrug

Yes… you keep posting this macro, but you can also just tab windows and cast a heal on your alt and keep them targeted so that you don’t have to retarget them.

So you’re saying you’re going to unsubscribe because you would have to do it that way instead?

That’s one of the most simple forms of dual boxing.

Ahhh, sleep well my dude. Be safe, yeah?

That DOES sound pretty, um… what’s the word…

I had a word for it, it eludes me. Damn my brain.

Simple? Easy?

Not the solution. The problem.

I believe it was possible to use a scripted macro in vanilla.

The problem is that that scripted macro and the modern infrastructure are incompatible.

Should Blizzard rewrite/change the modern infrastructure just so that some macros that worked 15 years ago on a different infrastructure will work on the new infrastructure today?

What is really being lost? All that is being “lost” is some convenience and nothing more, IMO.

Thank you. Safety first. You as well. Good night forums. Hopefully tomorrow we get some blue text on something so we can shift this energy around.

I don’t really see it as a “problem” though because having a high level character auto following you around keeping you alive is an advantage no matter what.

You know, I think you may be right.

And honestly? No, they really shouldn’t change the API. The modern one is more secure than the old one, right? I thought the whole point of switching to the modern engine wasn’t just so it could go through the content delivery pipeline, but also so it would be more secure.

Like I asked someone else earlier… do you really NEED a high-level character following your alts?

And if you do, why can’t it be a guildie?

But if it was a convenience that was there is not removing it a change? This could lead to flying you know. Slippery slope and all.

Padre.

Let’s not antagonize, alright? Besides, it’s your bedtime remember?

I just find it odd that when I google something about focus in Vanilla it’s not even showing up on some of these “unnamed server” forums.

On Wowwiki the macro guide lists all of the focus macros as “post patch 2.0”.

Besides memory, do you have any proof it was there? I can’t find any and I’ve been looking.

Yeah, exactly… you don’t. And this is coming from someone who has dual boxed in the past. But I didn’t use macros or software for it, I did it the tedious, manual way - playing the boxed /follow character manually, and just tabbing in between windows.

It’s definitely not the intended way to play the game, but a side effect of the simple of idea of having two accounts and a computer that can run multiple WoW clients.

Oh don’t you try to send me to bed. I miss my boy Fez. Lol.

That’s how the EQ players did it.

Fesz has been really chill tonight. I don’t want to ruin that streak.

Bringing up slippery slopes might change that.
