This literally made me stop playing nothing but AV. I could’ve been exalted yesterday if I kept spamming AV… but to have no reward. No thanks, Blizzard is really, really trying to make us hate them.

Don Rodrigos & Don Julios are clear & obvious counterparts to each other.
- Their names are intentionally similar because one is for melee & the other is for casters
- They have the exact same item level
- They require the exact same rep tier
- They are purchased from the exact same vendor
- They cost the exact same amount of gold
- They even vendor for the exact same amount of gold
…
Yet one is available now, the other is not available until phase 5?.. because … ???

Rank 14 spellblade was not an item that existed and was updated. It literally did not exist until 1.11 well after Don Rodrigo’s band was added. Yet the spellblade exists now in Classic, and the (much lower ilvl) ring does not.

You’re a bad mage if you don’t think the offhands and wand is worth it. Both are bis.
You’re a bad mage if you don’t realize that the offhands are not worth it until you get a mainhand worth putting an enchant on. Aside from the mageblade, there is no such weapon until AB… and that the wand is a frost damage wand while a large number of PvP mages are fire.
And the wand is not a rep reward.
My guess is you only care about PvE.
What about the tomes, they seem sweet to me
They’re basically telling everybody that spell penetration Is just a statstick now and it doesn’t apply until later patch.
So if any of you mages out there using a piece of item with SP on it is just for show.
Blizzard: add the damn ring.

Why would I want a Frost damage wand as a Fire Mage??
Why would I want an offhand with 0 stats for PvP??
Absolutely no reason this item shouldnt be in the game. As has been discussed already, several items have been released early, including items with spell penetration.
With updated resists on gear, theres no reason spell pen shouldnt be in the game when warlocks are resisting 50% of my pyroblast.
Blizzard needs to add this into the game during the next maintenance cycle.

The plan, as detailed by Blizzard, was to release items in their 1.12 versions with the phase associated with the patch the item released in vanilla, e.g. the rank 14 caster weapons should have released in phase 6.
Don Rodrigo’s Band not being added is consistent with this plan. You giving examples of Blizzard being inconsistent with other items does not disprove that.
The argument is not rubbish; your reading comprehension is.
No one here is arguing if it is consistent with what they’ve SAID.
We are arguing that it is inconsistent in their ACTIONS.
