would you mind making the title non caps? some of your suggestions are intresting and i believe have potential for discussion.
LOL, at a minimum graphic upgrades should be included, or a option for those who still want a potato graphics world.

Blizzard can make all the changes they want as long as the spirit of classic is maintained, I will be playing.

I won't play. You will quit and go back to your bfa in 2 weeks as well.

So basically you want vanilla ?

me too.

@ OP, the original launch vanilla cap was around 3500, but was reduced because of technical limits of old gear.

So what authentic original cap is best?

Likely the one that was the longest running version. Much like pre-naxx raid threat management, these are the real overall essence of Vanilla that the private realms just got wrong.

New models should absolutely be included, as well as things like transmog. The charm of vanilla had nothing to do with its aesthetic appeal, and everything to do with it being a breathing, organic world which encouraged strong communities to develop. That's what needs to be kept intact, but anything purely aesthetic should be brought up to 2018 standards as that has been pure, unadulterated, objective improvement over vanilla.

It's possible to play and ENJOY both games.

No. It is not possible.
I'll play.

You purist need to leave. You're ruining the game already and it's not even out. Vanilla is most of all a game built around a community. If a minority is already complaining and don't get their way at launch, then please keep spamming how much you hate classic and it's trash. You're ultimately the ones killing Classic.

No. You prochangers keep asking changes which ultimately mess up the experience of bfa and classic. You're ultimately the ones killing both games.

Here's my two cents, where I draw the line on these in case there's some insight it provides. I've bolded the ones that if included, I won't be playing.

NO server cap above 2500
NO further restrictions towards addon APIs
NO sharding
NO loot trading
NO CRZ
NO phasing
NO connected realms
NO LFD/LFR
NO new models
NO duel talents
NO wow token
NO character boost
NO transmog
NO achievement

Now, I'd really hate things like wow tokens, transmog (why is that even in the list, I don't think they'd do the work to add that in...) but I'd still pay my subscription. I think the ones I've bolded that cross the line and would keep me away from WoW are fairly self explanatory; they degenerate the community at an exceptionally fast rate and that's what I want to protect in classic.

They already said there won't be LFG and LFR. Did you even listen to the Blizzcon?

Can we not make new topics about the ones that have already been discussed by Blizzard? People are being rude against Blizzard for no reason. Even sharding is not favored by Blizzard, they just used it for the Demo.
Nope..

People playing hello kitty island adventure are killing both games.

The original vanilla graphics are just fine on modern resolutions and modern hardware ( https://imgur.com/a/TwRTvt4 ). Practically you can't even tell much difference between graphics in original vanilla WoW at modern resolution and modern wow (post-cata) vanilla zones at modern resolutions.

I'm assuming this "potato graphics" meme comes from people remembering vanilla being played on garbage low-rez monitors back in the day.

NO further restrictions towards addon APIs
This is a rather weird issue, because it's one place where not changing would ironically result in even more noticeable changes for the player experience. While there were a great many tools available to addon authors at first, there were a lot of ideas about how to use them that nobody figured out until much later on. Things like fully automating your entire combat rotation, or drawing on the world like it's MS paint broke the game dramatically but the APIs that allowed it to happen weren't removed until someone actually figured out how to abuse them. In Classic people will already know about those possibilities, so if Blizzard doesn't restrict APIs they'll be abused right out of the gate.

Why in the world would you not want new models and transmog? They are literally objective improvements to the game that do nothing to detract from what made vanilla uniquely great.
