Banger expansion. Raids slap, dungeons are solid, but most importantly gearing alts is easy and fun, and there is nothing forcing me to log in every single day.
I mean, you can still do it. It’s pretty fun to blow through on 70 and speed murder everything, and if you go through all the way through the Vaults it’s a not-terrible anima farm too.
Could also lock a character at 60 and do it the “legit” way if you like.
My mage is still level 60, solely for that reason. Lol. But everyone else has been leveled to 70 and going in at 70 removes the fear of death/failure.
I wish they’d kept it scaling and added to it. It could have been an awesome source of cosmetics/mounts. I mean, I’ve seen things like Project Ascencion private servers where they have like 5 different shades of the slime kitty from S4 SL, and different versions (fel, arcane, etc) of the shaman elemental mount. Or, the Sylverian dragon from the store but violet colored/themed. Blizzard could easily modify asset colors, etc. for items like this and tied to milestones within torghast (or a torgy type system that is dragon related for this expansion, but follows same premise of being a rogue-lite like Torghast) solely for people to do to get awesome challengey cosmetic rewards. I had a blast with Mage Tower doing the same thing, getting sets and my book, etc. when it re-released (and the weapons the first go around). But it has next to no replayability, which Torgy did at least.
Still enjoying it.
It just never took hold of me. I putz around a little here and there but my subs up in Oct.
Still enjoying it. I consider this a return to form for WOW. It’s nice being able to log in and do the content I want to do instead of having to complete a checklist of chores before I can have fun.
I’m bored with DF.
The landscaping art work in-game is amazing though. The skyboxes and horizon views are awesome. I do like the centaur hunting party quests as well.
well, if you’re ever in a police movie, you definitely don’t want to be ‘only a few days away from retirement’
ehhh…
Sendryn is just contrarian about everything.
Thallia just had bad takes about everything; and then got SUPER SUPER defensive when you called her out on it.
On the surface those two could be ignored about equally, but their writing styles were so different as to certainly be two different people.
ymmv
As for DF, now that I’m just 1 week away from maxing both Eng AND Blacksmithing, I still contend the new profession system sucks.
If it only took 2 months to do what took me 9 months, that would improve my opinion by about 70%. The other 30% is that I still HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN PATTERNS DROP in the raid, let alone WIN THE ROLL to get those patterns. They’re way, Way, WAYYYYYY too rare.
Nothing about the new Proff system is FUN.
Other than that, I’d like to hope Blizzard has learned that “Vignette Mobs” have run their course. The whole “make a new zone with 20+ vignette mobs to farm for 3 months” … is an absolutely DEAD mechanics now. It was DOA for Forbidden Reach, and was just made worse in Caverns. Hopefully this pathetic slop disguised as content will take a long break.
The Fyrakk Assualt is equally boring and was also DOA, but everything else in the WoW machine is running good. M+, is what it is. Raid was solid, even if Magmorax is a joke/out of place. There are fun side things to do (day care quests, etc).
DF is a good expac, the most glaring issue is professions and some growing pains. They’re drawing from certain wells far too often and now they’re dry as a bone.
I enjoyed (mostly) the profession system, although there are some things that could certainly use some help. Hopefully Blizzard never puts anything like the Altar of Decay in the game going forward.
I like the leveling experience in Dragonflight. But I don’t like what there is to do at 70. I enjoyed the max level systems that were in place in Legion and Shadowlands more. I think I have more alts that are max level in this expansion, but also lot of alts that I abandon at 70.
Dragonriding is something that I’d gladly give up for regular flying, but I wouldn’t say that’s what stopping me from playing at max level.
I don’t think it’s any sort of class balance. Just a lack of interest in what’s available at max level in Dragonflight.
Best expac in the last 6 years.
I hated all the borrowed power of Legion and BFA, I barely played during those times. I hated SL because it’s lore was atrocious, and I hated that there were a lot of chores to get into what you wanted to do, so I barely played that also.
The setting to DF is whatever to me. It’s not particularly exciting, but it’s not bad. Valdrakken is a nice city. Dragonflying feels great. The gameplay overall feels great to me. I’ve been playing a lot of different alts in DF because the game has a lot less barrier to entry that it feels better. Blizzard just needs to keep this up.
Game curently feels WoD 2.0 with how slow tier content is being release, is true they stretching the raid tiers by using the small patches in between but those patches are pretty much catch up which means they are betting on people playing alts while new raid and season is release.
Season 3 and new raid tier will probably be announced at Blizzcon which means the content will come at the end of November or at the start of December.
Other than that expansion has been alright.
Based and subscribed to something you hate pilled.
I have enjoyed the new class combos. Sorta enjoying the new flightstone system. I just wish the catalyst was more usable with world content stuff. World content also feels bad, I have enjoyed other expansions. Legion rare system was pretty good. Daily based rares were nice quests. No spawn times, rares just suck this expansion. And not to mention the Zaralek Caverns rares. You are better off getting a group for a low key run.
The return of a villain
I’m enjoying my drow monk in BG3. I’ve been curious about end game content in DF, but I’m in no rush. Leveling alts to 70 in timewalking has been fun - dungeons are my favorite way to level.
