The Kalimdor Cup taught me how you’re supposed to dragonride. After finishing Kalimdor Cup races, I knocked out gold in all of the Dragon Isles advanced / reverse / normal races.
Yesterday I also reached 2500 in M+ rating and now I can finally appreciate how much of a scam those bonus particle effects really are. I thought it would add a glowing halo effect to all of my other Aberrus priest helmet appearances, but that’s not the case. I’m not sure what it changes… which is actually in line with how my friends described the bonus particle effects from the previous season.
Still enjoying Dragonflight.
Edit: I didn’t realize you had to log out and log back in. The helmet does have particle effects, so I’d say reaching 2500 was actually well worth it. Strange that you’d need to unlock the Elite set in order to get the helmet without the particle effects, though. I had used my token to purchase the elite helmet rather than work towards PVP.
I have honestly enjoyed my time with Dragonflight quite a lot.
Vault & Abberus have been both fun raids for me. Even though, Sark doesn’t feel and look like a proper final bosss (the mechanics are there tho). M+ has been enjoyable for me, especially season 2. I haven’t really touched PVP this expansion, so, no opinion there.
The Casual content from this expansion sucks pretty hard though. And the Renown/rep system of this expansion as well feels undercooked. Like, I haven’t interacted with the lore or the overarching story of this expansion after completing the leveling campaign in my first toon. Which, too SL’s defense, I did interact with the story a whole lot more back there, even if said lore was horrible fan fiction.
I wish you could use them on any shoulder but no, just that tier and it’s not account wide I believe so yeah, not great IMO, especially if you’re not fond of whichever tier set. The priest one is bis though IMO.
I really love this expansion, it’s a HUGE change of pace from the last expansion. Sure, there are some times that I felt burnt out but I honestly blame that on my hectic life. Right now, I’ve been doing whelping daycares and I really love it. And time rift is so damn fun that I don’t mind doing it over again!
My only complaint is the renown for centaur because I’m hovering around 17 to 19, I’m not sure why that particular faction renown is always a slog to grind.
ehh im logging on maybe 1 or 2 hours a week at this point. just doing crafting knowledge. i’ve accomplished what i wanted to do for this patch for the most part
A few of the tier sets are pretty drastic with the KSH bonus particles. I like the rune looking effects on the shoulders on my mage, and the s1 evoker stuff looks good, but a lot of times it’s just little glowies. Still glad I farmed mine out but it’s not the be-all.
I would like it but I really, really REALLY Seriously hate the way the dragons fly. It’s like gliding. I hate it. Haven’t played in months. I wish you could just fly on a normal mount.
Not really playing right now as I’ve done the content I’ve wanted to do currently.
For an expansion: It’s fine. The talent changes I like, Dragonriding is a solid addition to the game, and I like the topography/landscape of the Dragon Isles.
The MSQ and the local stories for each zone are…fine. Not great, but not horrible. About the equivalent of a chest x-ray.
The races themselves (The Centaur, the Tuskarr) are charming and…fine.
The whole expansion feels like setup though, like we’re heading toward something more interesting. This in and of itself isn’t an issue for me, but I can understand why some players aren’t feeling it.
The actual gameplay itself is the best it has ever been, in spite of memes like Exodia existing and players who don’t participate anywhere near where it finds success, play in the way it works, etc crying very loudly or trying to copy exodia without understanding how/why it works and flopping
Take a page from Diablo and implement World Tiers. This will allow content to stay relevant. ZC/Fi, etc. Scale rewards based on difficulty.
Balancing has been atrocious at best. Some classes so far apart or no use in content, that some are forced to reroll if they want to enter competitive content.
Bugs/Rushed releases taking away from the new content.
WHY RELEASE A NEW TYPE OF CLASS MID-SEASON?!?! One of the worst decisions in this game’s history.
Forcing Dragonflying, while I enjoy it, has had people leave or avoid. Open to all mounts.
Overall, DF has a lot of great material, just find it lacks polish/completion needed to make it’s full value shine.
I think the worst part of DF is the empty communication from Blizzard. Promises and radio silence.
I think the game is at a point in which so much testing and bugs are being delivered with the product, that charging a sub is kind of unethical. Deliver a premium service if you plan to charge for both the game and play time. At this point, the game should be F2P until it reflects a AAA title. Right now, it just isn’t there.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with DF, playing it more than most expansions.
Although I may take a hiatus here when classic era hardcore launches, at least until I rage quit after dying to something stupid by the late level 20s.
Definitely still holding the stance that this is shaping to be one of their better expansions.
I like that they are focusing on improvements to the game’s core systems rather than just adding new ones that subsequently get dropped and forgotten about 2 years later.
When I’d achieve my goals and reach the phase I am currently in where I don’t want to log in because I’m bored and almost nothing provides me any benefit, at least in Shadowlands I had Torghast to fall back to and it was fun as all get out.
I miss Torghast so much. I had an absolute blast spending 600+ hours in Torghast across ever class of the game. I was so close to having completed, at level, all 8 Twisting Corridors on every spec in the game. I was 4 specs short.
