Joana played Horde because it was faster, and it was faster because the quests were better. Alliance 49-55 is kind of rough. The quests dry up if you do too many quests that are above your level and you end up having to do a lot of grinding to finish the last two levels.
That was his own statement. From Joana, who lvled at lvl 60 on classic wow in a little bit over 60 hours.
So i wouldn´t agree with your statement…if the one with the world record picked horde because the lvl progress is later on easier (the first 30 lvl you are right…the second 30 lvl you are clearly wrong)
I’d sacrifice the entire Alliance cast to villainy and death if it meant the Alliance was the focus of the entire story and it got to capture and hold a bunch of lands it conquered by being villains.
Heck, we have an example of an Alliance villain already. His name was Arthas and it was probably the most popular and memorable narrative arc Blizzard ever produced.
The only reason to be afraid of being “villain batted” is if your primary lens of viewing the narrative is via who will win the most Forum War Points.
Arthas has a justification in the form of a backstory to becoming the Lich King. He goes through this story alone, he has no nationwide support.
Death of Horde characters, lack of motivation to hate the Alliance, lack of reaction from Horde characters … What else are they complaining about when they talk about the villainous beat?
I mean, BLM called themselves that so, take it up with them.
It isn’t realistic because of how supply and demand works… The relationship between a finite resources and an exponentially growing human population. That and deadweight loss, you can only expect plummeting wealth and stagnation of innovation. Which, funny enough, always seems to be what happens when this experiment is tried.
Through innovation and invention, sure. I like to be optimistic. I mean, we have already reduced such things to varying degrees. In the modern era, fewer people proportionally to the total population, are dying from those things than all previous eras.
The problem is resources are finite. There is little point to equal distribution of food if it means everyone is malnourished. The solution is either A: Finding resources from elsewhere. or B: Some other inventive solution. Mostly likely both.
And with every economic system other than pure free-market capitalism, there is a measurable loss of human capital and innovation, called Deadweight loss. This isn’t even a point of debate. This idea is universally accepted by economics, as it is based off an economic model from which all economics are based. Supply and Demand.
The problem is human greed often pulls us in one direction. It doesn’t matter if you are a communist, capitalist, socialist, whatever. Throughout history, there has been a constant and reoccurring cycle of growth and centralization to the point of collapse, rinse and repeat until the modern era. And with swelling debt, corporatization, and state centralization… And with how long Economic manipulation has kept things afloat. It is only a matter of time before things collapse again.
What will the centralization of refrigerators in the hands of stores lead to, limiting the size of a refrigerator for individuals to about two pots? And couriers with cooler bags. So that everything is eaten on the same day as bought … Yes.
That’s economy but it doesn’t mean you don’t try to even out the gaps. Safety nets are a good example, but also free/subsidised healthcare and education for starters. Something the US desperately needs. And taxing the wealthy ofc.
Taking money from the rich to give to the people who are already in their pocket is not the great solution to all of Earth’s problems you think it is lol.
A better solution is reduced taxes, term limits for elected officials. Weaker centralized Government. And I would like a rework on anti-trust laws and enforcement, to fight against corporatization. But I have not thought about a good way to do that at this time.
Lordearon’s Undercity is not surface Lordearon, and its an important place for the cult of forgotten shadow. What they should do is double down on the Jerusalem factor for both the living and the dead and make Lordearon more controversial.
Or Blizzard could have added new land/expanded new areas for the Horde. Heck, they could have kept say Kezan, and change the narrative so the Horde was force to retake it/rebuild it. As it is, we lost thing important to us but now luckly the tide of the story seems to have turned somewhat. At least Southshore belongs to the Alliance again. Now if only Blizzard actually spared some development actually showing it.
Oh please, Varian’s development was done in a way that actually helped many leaders. Hell, I think most people didnt like Moira until blood in the Snow. As for Genn, he and Varian managed to actually bury a hatchet that was as old as WoW itself and make Genn a more likable if gruff person.
As for Tyrande, well even without Varian we see her rushing off on her own, again and again! She was always too reckless for her own good.
Yep, when she totally rushed Archimonde when he showed up and got blown up.
And when she was reckless enough to doom Kaelthas by asking him to fight the undead with a caravan.
And when she ran off to kill Tichondrius without Illidan’s help.
Oh wait…
Impulsive =/= lack of thought
Decisive =/= reckless
More like when she freed Illidan from his cage and didn’t even bother thinking of the consequence(she lucked out that he still loved her because in the Illidan book, he half wanted to see the world burn)
Or when she decided the Alliance/Horde fighting the Legion “were mongrels and nothing more” rather the maybe reflect and think about what Malfurion said.
Or the time MAIEV of all people warned her she was no match for the undead and while she lucked out and the bridge fell on her, had Malfurion/Illidan not decided to work together she would have ended up dead!
Each and every time she lucked out on her decisions but any one of them could have easily meant her death or worse.
No, she needs to learn the value of patience, and it is clear she keep failing such a lesson.
She is reckless and has a propensity not to think of the long term consequences of her choices/actions.
