And entire half of the playerbase that had ZERO control over it but were hyped enough to bounce to the moon and back to get to genocide an Alliance race until they realized that the narrative would try to make them feel bad about it. And even then most of them are still more than happy they finally got to do it.
The worse of it is Blizzard is completely sweeping what the horde, not just Sylvanas, did under the rug.
I mean the Alliance gets no revenge or resolution.
They get zero agency in this story.
No reasonable explanation as to why this cycle is totally broken and the cherry on topâŠ
Both sides were wrong according to NPCs! Both sides made mistakes! War is bad! We shouldnât fight.
Holy hell this is all kinds of stupid even for Blizzard.
A few seemed a little bitter over losing Undercity, but I think the Forsaken will be ok without it. From the war campaign in Zalamar before the Battle of Dazarâalor:
Anna Bizrim says: Oh great here we go with Undercity again.
Clayton Backston says: What are you talking about?
Timothy Zarltin says: My nameâs Clayton, Iâm sad that I lost my little garden in Undercity, wah wah wah!
Timothy Zarltin says: Hahaha!
Ingrid Bellix says: Hahaha!
Anna Bizrim says: Hahaha!
Clayton Backston says: I hate all of you from the bottom of my rotted heart.
Chadwick Paxton says: Letâs discuss Claytonâs garden and the fact that we no longer have a home for later, we have Alliance to kill.
Ahh there is one of those loud obnoxious exceptions among the NE community now.
Shouldnât you be in a Sylvanas forum doing mental gymnastics about how Sylvanas was clearly always going to betray everyone and never cared about anything even while lying to the reader in her inner monologues?
Someone doesnt like to get destroyed with facts and logic
Nope, been there done that. Iâm just happy that particular Band Aid was finally ripped off. Waited for a year and a half for it to happen, and that wave of relief that we can FINALLY move on from waiting around for Sylvie to betray us is quite calming.
But, to each their own. I take a little bit of validation from the arc Sylvie went on, YOU make general BROAD sweeping generalizations about half a playerbase trying to villainize THEM just as much as their Faction (in order to make the NEs even MORE the victims).
Well tbh Droité is one of the few horde players that try to post with reasons and facts even when she is wrong about them
Isnât it weird that the only people who see these armies of Horde fans who loved being forced to commit genocide are Night elf players? Is it some kind of second sight provided by Elune? How mysterious
Well tbh Droité is one of the few horde players that try to post with reasons and facts even when she is wrong about them
Yup. Wrong. Which is why I literally predicted every single major Sylvanas story beat in BfA at the launch of BfA. Sylvie will betray the Horde, check. Sylvie is just using the Horde and Forsaken as tools for some personal objective, check. The entire point of this conflict is the Death Toll, check. Sylvie is Ogmotâs Shepherd, check. Blizzard would try to foist MORE of the Blame onto Sylvie by making the Horde the victims of her too, check. The only thing I was off the mark with was the Yogg-Saron angle, and who knows ⊠with the âHungering Darknessâ we might even get that too.
EDIT: I was also admittedly VERY wrong about where Blizz was taking Nathanos.
By wrong I meant defending the horde or being horde to being with bu that was just me joking.
I do like the way you post even when i dont agree on some.
Keep it up
They see a few and assume its alot
Night elves have Tyrande, Malfurion, the Druid faction, the World TreeS plural: more than one, all wild gods except for the wild gods that help the Zandalari, Shandris, Maiev, the Wardens, Illidan, the Moonguard, Azsuna, Valsharah, druid-related magical creatures such as treants and wisps, the emerald dream, feralas, Elune (which is being propped up.)
Oh LordâŠ

You guessed right and now pretend like youâre the Oracle of frigginâ Delphi. You routinely ignore all of the counterpoints people raise in opposition to your âI saw this coming the whole time and there were no contradictions whatsoever!â narrative and adopt a wholly irritating holier-than-thou attitude. Your writing mechanics, random capitalization, and atrocious use of semicolons and parentheses make my eyes bleed. In short, I find you to be one of the most insufferable posters on this entire decimated Story Forum, and the fact that you are one of the few people left to represent the Horde in this place just shows how thoroughly the players who cared about lore have been driven off by this piss-poor story. That we only have apologists like you and Pyrogar, or outright trolls like Trivelfrank and Spuddyc left (incidentally, Spuddyc is a whining Wintergrasp quitter) left here posting regularly makes this a poorer discussion forum overall.
We sit here and debate whether or not the Night Elves are justified in their ceaseless whine while the Forsaken playerbase has had damn near everything taken from them, just without as much heart-wringing Golden pathos supporting it. One of these groups of players is facing narrative death with a thorough hollowing out of their racial theme, leaders, and relevance by being forcibly pushed into the role of WoW NSDAP. The other has suffered a great tragedy and has a strong remaining framework to take the story forward.
I started out this expansion very sympathetic towards Night Elf players. Their behavior in that yearâs time has made my sympathy wear very thin indeed.
Not necessarily, I take no real joy in it. I just get a bit weirded out when people claim its trash writing that Sylvanas went this way. I wonder what character theyâre fans of?
Truth of the matter is, it was a coin flip. There were elements of her character that could have taken her one way, and there were elements of her character that could have taken her the way she went. I would have been more than happy if she had gone a different route; more than supportive of those small elements of her characterization that pointed to her being more of a compassionate leader ⊠but it just didnât happen.
Thatâs all there is to it unfortunately. She had two paths before her, and she went down one. Its really only those people who refused to see the alternate path because of the one they so desperately wanted her to go down, that were surprised by her in BfA.
The best alternative (outside of unsubbing) is rerolling Pandaren. We are ignored by the story team, thus making us immune to stupidity like BfAâs plot.
The other has suffered a great tragedy and has a strong remaining framework to take the story forward.
great framework to be used as the victim again. Whenever the night elves are written. Its usually how helpless and in need of humanity.
Oh LordâŠ
Instead of disingenuously implying that Iâm wrong, why donât you list all of the things the Forsaken have?
Iâll wait. It wonât take you long to put down. They have like⊠three characters total.
You literally have to pull from neutral factions that are not helping the Night Elves or involved in the faction war at all to make your point.
You literally have to pull from neutral factions that are not helping the Night Elves or involved in the faction war at all to make your point.
???
Are you telling me that the Moonguard would not help Tyrande if she called for them? Are you telling me Cenarius refuses to fight for the Night Elves and has never tried to murder orcs merely because the night elves told him to?
Would someone really do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?
Your culture pretty much dies when you lose your homeland alone
Nevermind that your point was this. Culture dying. Well, youâre wrong.
