Night Elf Models Are Goofy

Yup my goofdar went off the minute I first saw one. Something definitely goofy about them.

Record scratch

DA:O has mods?

Welp… there goes the next 50 hours of my life. One of these days I will actually finish Witcher.

Oh you have no idea. Do not go to a website called Nexusmod. You have been warned.

Yes. They are out of proportion. They should have reworked them to be more similar to the Blood Elf ones.

I hate the female animations; they’re people that have lived for thousands of years yet act all sexy/girly, the fanservice is way too strong.

No, they’re meant to be wild, it’s only natural for their bodies to be large and athletic. If anything the BE males should be slim instead of those bulky chests.

I’ve actually always thought that Night Elf female dual wielding animations are the best in the game.

Are you referring to the dance? Because you’re right about that being overtly feminine. As far as the other animations though, they seem kind of masculine to me. The running, for instance, reminds me of a football player.

You’ve clearly never seen a female orc in action.

Again, they’re athletic so their movement should be more precise (BE/Draenei waddling seems impractical for adventuring purposes). The one animation that I hate the most about fem NE and is one of the most common animations as well is the crafting/mounting one. Why the hell do they smile and lift one leg? I can almost hear them giggling.

I understand that, but they are top heavy and elongated. They should cut them down a little. Or beef up their lower torso.

That I can get behind.

I mained a male night elf druid from vanilla until WOD. But with the new models, I had to retire the character. I couldn’t stand the new gumby run and the weird proportions. I’ve since rerolled a female druid and I think they look quite good. And it’s nice to see a athletic female model in the game, rather than the anorexic elfs.

They’re a mixed bag, I suppose. They’ve got very feminine animations, as well as very sporty/athletic ones. Their casting animation looks like they’re a baseball pitcher about to throw a ball.

I think a good fix would be to allow players to choose between different animations, to further customize the vibe they want their characters to have. Like, allow a night elf to have human or gnome crafting animations. I don’t know how difficult that would be to implement though.

I think they look pretty badass. Just depends what you liked about the previous models imo.

Even their demon hunter voices sound amazing.

I agree. I like female night elf cast animations but more options would be nice.

That’s basically a purple WoW human, though. Lookit his tiny shins. Someone send this artist back to anatomy class.

Remember in WoD, for a very short time. They made NE males bounce when they ran lol?

Classic character on the Retail boards, because…

True fact, this is the first Human toon I have been able to stick with this long. Back in Vanilla, I started on a male Night Elf, so that from the beginning was normal to me.

But then Burning Crusade came, I tried Blood Elves, expecting to dislike them… but didn’t. I mained a Blood Elf of one class or another, up through Legion.

And whenever I tried to switch back to a Night Elf, good heavens! The oddity of the physique just hit me like a brick!

In Classic, I wanted to return to my WoW roots, and have a Night Elf hunter but with the advantage of knowing what stupidity to avoid. Dantion here was meant to be an alt. I wanted a Paladin, and wasn’t feeling Dwarf.

Surprise! He’s a main. My NE Hunter, Druid and Rogue are languishing at 30, 22 and 12 respectively. The body doesn’t throw me as badly, but it is still definitely a little weird.

Ally-side in Retail, I prefer my Void Elf. In Classic, I like that there is only one choice for Elves, with Trolls as they should be representing the Horde side of that hertiage. But I am struck all over again by the oddity of male Night Elf physique.

Weird proportions. But I don’t want them changed at this point - that would be even weirder.

Yeah they need to do them up closer to how they look on the warcraft reforge. I love night elves in artwork and cinematics… but in game they’re overly buff blueberries with spaghetti hair.

What if they were changed to become less weird though? A head that doesn’t jut forward, less lanky arms, smaller hands and forearms, and slightly wider hips.

Male nightborne also say hello from the goofy troupe.

At least we didn’t get that. Someone in Blizzard is really trying to sabotage Night Elves, lol.
