Night Elf Models Are Goofy

Never been a fan of night elves mostly because they do indeed look goofy. Not to mention their hopping in idle.

Someone in Blizzard is really trying to sabotage Night Elves, lol.

Sometimes i almost believe they hate nelves. We are losing our lands to the horde, we lost our capital and in legion we lost a part of our lore to the horde with the nightborne. Even our model was better before they “update” them.

They look exactly like Goofy. Floppy ears, big feet, and lanky.

Another excellent point! They even got rid of this face option! I remember looking for it when the new models first came out, and being extremely disappointed when it wasn’t there. Who made that call?? grr…

Weird proportions. But I don’t want them changed at this point - that would be even weirder.

What if they were changed to become less weird though? A head that doesn’t jut forward, less lanky arms, smaller hands and forearms, and slightly wider hips.

I don’t think they ought to change. The art style is what it is. I don’t feel, for example, changes to male BE animations etc. from BC were improvements.

But then Burning Crusade came, I tried Blood Elves, expecting to dislike them… but didn’t. I mained a Blood Elf of one class or another, up through Legion.

And whenever I tried to switch back to a Night Elf, good heavens! The oddity of the physique just hit me like a brick!

In Classic, I wanted to return to my WoW roots, and have a Night Elf hunter but with the advantage of knowing what stupidity to avoid. Dantion here was meant to be an alt. I wanted a Paladin, and wasn’t feeling Dwarf.

Surprise! He’s a main. My NE Hunter, Druid and Rogue are languishing at 30, 22 and 12 respectively. The body doesn’t throw me as badly, but it is still definitely a little weird.

From what it sounds like, you’re not enjoying playing your Night Elves as much because they look weird.

From what I’ve deducted, you have very little faith in the art team, lol, which is understandable considering the state of Night Elves. Taking into account the slow degradation of Night Elves from Warcraft 3, to WoW, to the post WoD model updates, you might be thinking that if they haven’t gotten it right by now, then they never will. To that I say… likely. But hey, hope springs eternal.

Edit: Not trying to bash the art team or anything. They do a wonderful job for the most part. Night Elves though…

So I had this urge to make a strong, graceful, amazonian sort of character, and I felt that a female Night Elf would fit the bill perfectly. Anywho, I just tried to make one and… sigh… can’t do it. While they are strong and graceful, they are just so gosh darn angry looking. They kinda look like there is a constant bad smell under their nose.

Even the faces that are somewhat similar to the original models were altered enough that they might as well be totally different.
