I hope you mean revert the nerfs to Stormwind. Now the original difficulty is worth the rewards.

How about making essences account-wide? There are many many players that would appreciate that. There are a lot of us that enjoy playing alts, and the thought of grinding all the essences over and over is worse than not getting corrupted items at this point in the patch.

This isn’t a player-appreciation change. This is a get-more-players-to-run-HVs change. There’s nothing else coming down the pipeline, they need to make this content as appealing as possible.

I know it would appealing to many players if they could play alts without having to grind the essences over and over.

Agreed but making changes to essences is largely fixing an 8.2 problem in 8.3. Their focus is going to be on making current content the most appealing to players.

Also they’d have to make a huge about-face to grant account-wide essences after the game director plainly said it wouldn’t happen.

Feels like BfA never left Alpha to me. Well, okay, I remember there being holes in BfA zones in the early Alpha builds so I’ll at least give it a little progress.

You throttled access to visions, access to corrupted gear, and cape progression.

You should have done the following instead:

  • Dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, islands, and arenas give currency for vision keys- grindable.
  • Visions give corrupted gear, masks bonus ilv limited weekly is fine. Otherwise, 1 piece of 430 per clear.
  • Corrupted gear you don’t want can be cleansed. Cleansing gives you motes that you can combine to an essence. Void vessel crafting table can be used to corrupt gear. 1 essence = 1 level, 3 = 3 level. Effect would be random.
  • Corruption effect would cost less and have small effects, so you would have more pieces on at once.

Play loop

  • content you like (dungeons/raids/pvp) -> access to vision
  • vision -> access to corrupted gear that you may or may not like.
  • gear you don’t like -> crafting table for second chance at corruption you like.
  • corruption you like being used to do better in -> content you like (dungeons/raids/pvp)
