But they literally just did.
They had the spotlight for a large portion of BFA. Goblin and gnome engineering made some of the biggest impacts in the war, were the theming for 2 dungeons and over half a patch cycle.
If there was an expansion to introduce Tinkers, BFA was it.

Blizzard does big, simple, and fun really well.
These past couple expansions… they’re trying to be “clever” and manipulative with the narrative and are getting quite esoteric with the setting. I like having that stuff in the background, but it’s really not working for me when it’s brought to the fore, particularly when we’re just getting shreds of insight into the storylines we’re actually invested in.
I want to know what the dragonflights are doing about their impotence. That’s a dangling plot thread that hasn’t been touched since it was first placed. There have been hints with Wrathion, but no developments. I want to see more.

That’s the kicker, though, isn’t it? They got a hint of the limelight, but not the focus. And the opportunity for a class passed them by.
Same goes for Shadowlands and Necromancer.
Next Hero Class: Something that has never existed (or: Why classes that have existed in Warcraft lore Don’t Work)
Technically, it exists without the label.
But even indulging you - that’s the beauty of it. Strong fantasy with no preconceived notions of gameplay. It’s fertile soil for the class designers to come up with something for modern WoW without the baggage.
Think of it this way; do you think that Demon Hunters would still be a 2 spec class if the developers weren’t tied down by preconceived notions?
TBH if blizz made a race that originally were like 40 people in lore (Void elves) they can do a lot with dragons and dragon related stuff
And to be completely clear - they had no precedent prior to their implementation. With the Argus patch, the only previously known character that the Void Elves lay claim to was converted to their “race.” And they were immediately made available.
WarCraft’s history with dragons has roots that stretch as far back as WarCraft II… but we have nothing playable to indulge those who enjoyed that bit of lore. No draconic classes. No draconic races. Not even a rebranded artifact system themed around the dragonflights.
So with all these little hints pointing at an impending progression of the lore of the dragonflights… I hope we get a class out of it.

Yup, there’s a gnome equivalent and they’re all clearly tinkers.
True. But even if Blizzard would indulge the players that want it with a Tinker class… methinks that ship has sailed.
All of the above should be playable options.
Dragonsworn, bards, tinkers, necromancers…whatever. The more options and variety, the better.
By definition, Night Elf Druids (and potentially Tauren Druids) are Dragonsworn, deriving many of their unique powers from the Green Dragonflight.
It may be controversial to suggest, but seeing a couple of the more divergent aesthetic options being integrated into existing classes might be generally useful for creating some focus for any potential Dragonsworn. It could look something like this:
-
The aesthetic elements associated with the Black Dragonflight are integrated into the existing Warrior.
(Legion’s focus on Class Fantasy saw the Warrior inundated with abilities associated with the Black Dragonflight, and these elements were generally well-received from an aesthetic perspective.)
-
The aesthetic elements associated with the Green Dragonflight are integrated into the existing Druid (which, admittedly, would require them to abandon this terrible Sun/Moon dichotomy that seemingly sprang from nowhere and makes very little sense as a universally applied skillset).
-
The remaining aesthetic elements (Bronze Dragonflight, Blue Dragonflight, Red Dragonflight) could then utilized to create some focus for the Dragonsworn Class.
In a world with unlimited resources and time, sure. But that’s not our world.
Why in the world would you need a music themed expansion to introduce a bard?
We have music and instruments in the game right now.
You state this as fact lol. There could easily be a music themed expansion. Bards wear mail gear too.
Good post tho. <3 earned.
An allied race would be pretty simple. Just need a few art assets. The class would take more time and effort.
By a made up definition of a label that doesn’t exist in game or anywhere in Warcraft lore. Like calling Druids Cenarionsworn. No such thing.

Technically non-canon, but still a part of WarCraft lore.
No, it’s not because it’s non-canon. Can it be? Yes. Is it? No.
Sorry but Skyrim is ------> that way.
Dragonsworn? Lol ok no.

Just as canon as Monk was prior to their implementation.
