Regarding the gear on the vendor. There are a lot of valid points in Stoopz video. When resilience, pvp power, or wod scaling was on gear your bis in pvp was the gear off the vendor. It forced players to pick the best stats that were available on the vendor. It made less optimal stat selections “ok” because of it being fair to everyone.
Now that’s not the case. Without the pvp stat existing, the vendor is incomplete. I’m fortunate to be one of those who doesn’t mind a little m+ to complete my bis gear. But to the players that are still wanting to play like it’s pre Legion, they’ll be frustrated… just a little less frustrated than BFA.
The reality is that most people who do bgs look on gear as a means to the end, ie being able to do bgs and contribute without having to worry about gearing up anymore.
I have never heard a PvPer say, “When I get my full conquest gear I’m going to unsub.” I have heard many PvEers say they would quit for the patch if they got their bis gear. However, the chance of getting bis gear for non-mythic raiders is nonexistent. We don’t know how many there are, but the number must be way smaller than 1%, given the likely small percentage of mythic raiders who have a raid on farm for an extended period of time.
And really, that’s a legitimate goal and a legitimate playstyle.
To design a game to force, to attempt to force .1% of players to play a certain way while putting the remaining 99.9% at a major disadvantage is incredibly short-sighted.
Except that is just min maxing and only needed when you worry about dps, never once has that been needed to succeed in pvp though because it’s about dmg done in your goes and at that you don’t need min max.
The gear on pvp vendor only needs to be competitive, someone not winning a game won’t be because billy bob had 10%-15% more of their top stat.
It will come down to positioning, teammates synergy, and who has the better execution of their plan.
Not really, min maxing again is to maintain dps to maximize total dmg done throughout the whole fight to hit timers and things.
Pvp is about dmg done inside of your “goes” and you don’t need bis to set up a cc chain and blow someone up with burst.
So someone stacked in crit with a wash of everything else will be as effective killing in a go as someone who has their bis stats? Or what about someone trying to survive someone else’s go with 0% vers?
Seems you misinterpreted my post - I even pointed out that getting into pugs “is another matter entirely”, if you actually read the whole post.
Obviously you won’t get into pugs with those item levels, the numbers referenced were just ballpark numbers as to what is generally a good “starting point” for those keystone levels (as far as being able to complete those keystone levels at an average pace or +1).
Competent players were clearing +15’s with like 450(ish) item level in the very first 2 weeks of patch 8.3, so I imagine 435-440(ish) is probably fine for a +10.
Why are you god of all forums? No. Just because you spend a lot of time in here? I pay my sub I can contribute to the forums and decide who I communicate with in game. You do not get to tell anyone how to do that.
Jugaa you don’t tell people what to do and how to conduct themselves in life or in game. You stick to you I will stick to me. Thanks go down the rabbit hole yourself.
You said you don’t want to reveal your btag. Ok fair enough, I didn’t even bring it back up after you said that. This doesn’t change that you can whisper Herclol-Sargeras in game for the duel.
But let’s be real. You talked smack, got called out, and now you’re afraid to back it up.
