lol no its not, I watched a review video…its above average at best.
It’s the wow forums. They hate everything
But I do plan on giving new world a shot.
They really need to consider having a trial system similar to WoW - let you download some basic form of it (perhaps time or level limited) so people can run around in it a little before deciding to buy.
I guess I can always hope that if you are a Prime member then you get some extra option. But unless they do have some form of trial I’m unlikely to pay for it until its been out a good long time and I can see a wide variety of input on it.
Similar to FFXIV please.
I know but in my head there is XD
Im gonna be a fancy Elf (Cleric/cleric) High Priestress in a Divine Node leader of the religion XD
No, what I said. Similar to WoW. You can download WoW, play it till level 20 I believe and get an idea of questing, movement, fighting, etc. Thats really all you need to see if the style of game suits you.
I have no interest in how FF does anything really.
Oh, it just give you access to absolutely everything.
Admittedly, it won’t help New World much.
Since Final Fantasy XIV have had three expansions by now, and the trial gives 100% access to all content from level 1-60, which is the base game and the first expansion.
New World obviously can not do something similar to that.
But Final Fantasy XIV still does better trials than WoW - another reason it is on the rise and WoW is failing.
In less restrictive pvp games thats kind of the point. You roll with many friends. You don’t have a circle of 10 friends and pick 2 for some 3 on 3 arena. you…roll with all 10 friends.
Kind of the point to joining a pvp guild/corp/etc.
Some in wow will have issues yes. same as they do with even BG premades. Aww its a premade, not fair. no…its several people showing a community interest. They just bring it to pvp and not a 5 man dungeon or 25 man raid.
Yeah, I’ve been doing the beta, and it’s actually really fun. Granted, I haven’t gotten very far, but the mere fact that they seem to actually have a real crafting system already makes it better than WoW.
Well I’m enjoying the heck out of it. I like the combat system, the world is interesting, and they have player housing. Just waiting for the rest of the RP mechanics to be added. Hoping it continues to improve.
Of course any gamer or MMO player should. It looks like it will have some cool features that will be refreshing. WoW hasn’t been my main MMO since 2016 and I just come back here to dabble anyways.
Damn that and Custimations are the beast feature in a games for me
I think its got more popular because streamers and content creators have gone there and people on discord and twitch followed them. And its new to people who have never played it, so it will have the benefit of being a fresh game world. I wonder if so many of them will be there in a year or two.
I tried it, didn’t like it (and I actually paid for it, didnt do it on a trial). And this was about a year ago, well before the most recent excitement. Naturally games are as much a matter of taste as any form of entertainment, so thats all just me.
Oh I have been there myself.
I tried FFXIV before it was a Realm Reborn, it’s original launch. It did not stick with me then. I also tried A Realm Reborn way, way, way back, before it’s expansions and all - and it still did not stick.
It was first, soon a year ago now, that the game actually started to stick. August 2020. I guess it finally hit when I could objectively look at WoW and say: “This game is actually bad… it is horrible” and then the whole WoW addiction washed away and I could open myself up to another MMORPG.
As for how many will stay. I think many of the streamers themselves will end up staying. They seem to genuinely enjoy playing Final Fantasy, I have watched a couple of their streams as they went through the A Real Reborn and Heavensward story.
As for their viewers, yeah, that is a good question. But seeing as the FFXIV community have been mostly welcoming to the new ‘cute’ sprouts as the new players are referred to, I can imagine many have come to stay. And the calmer and more friendly nature of the FFXIV community will hopefully wash the worst of the WoW toxicity away… at least until people start doing ultimate content.
Nope. Action PvP MMOs require the game to always be thriving, and I’m not that interested. Human characters, no classes, action based but few actual skills, ho-hum.
Its a good point about the races - having only humans is very limiting. Not sure why Amazon made that decision.
I mean it’s the lore/design they chose, and I get it, it’s just not what I want in an MMO. It’s like when a sci-fi focused game is only about ship to ship combat.
Yes but they could have made it so the humans went through a sort of Devils Triangle into an alternate world peopled by other humanoid races and you could at some stage build a rep with them and create of those races to play. Sort of like WoW’s allied races. There are always ways out of a box.
