Yep, well 1 month has come, no answers, radio silence.
Rumors are that the person who was working on the Druid talent tree has quit / taking a break.
Hopefully someone else will pick up the mantle and offer some feedback on what theyâre going to work on. Been trying to make M+ builds for bear and feral and tbh it looks not really amazing. The left tree could use less nodes / less multiple point nodes so we can have more utility.
We can still NOT pick swipe, pick brutal slash as feral and not have either swipe nor brutal slash.
Picking our current 4pce bonus should NOT require brutal slash, we should be able to keep swipe and pick that talent (whatever sickle of the lion is in the talent trees , Berzerk Frenzy I think?)
Thatâs just a rumor, right? Thereâs no direct information to prove it
I really have to make a hypothetical guess. I am more inclined to mess up with guys who have no special or no experience in actually playing Druid.
That would explain bad changes but it wouldnât explain no changes. Every other class is actively being worked on except for Druid and Priest.
What if they believe the druid and priest trees are complete and require no further changes.
Then theyâve lost a loyal customer since vanilla.
What is the point of an alpha if they are not making and testing changes to the tree?
Why even ask for feedback on the forums if it isnât going to result in anything?
If thatâs the case then theyâre blind and deaf. Neither Druid nor Priest lack for feedback, they lack for responses. At this point the volume is loud enough that you couldnât possibly ignore it unless there was literally no one at the helm.
Officially ⌠1 month into alpha and still no responses or iteration of the âTalent treesâ (because if those are the talent trees, theyâre garbage). Once again, just inform the druid community⌠if the rumors about the feral dev quitting are true, tell us. Tell us there is a contingency plan. Let us know that youâre working on it. The silence is deafening.
Is it just me or is anyone else tired of the the only rotation option for druid for the last 15+ years being a slow bleed drip? Every other aspect of feral is so cool. But when youâre out questing it just feels so slow. DOT them up and just wait for them to keel over, and having auto attack being such a big part of dps is crap. Why canât we get a talent option that replaces rip with another CP booster or instant damage finisher and then boost the damage of ferocious bite. So there is an option, instant damage (maybe a little less than a rip to keep it balanced) or slow bleed damage.
And bring back Faerie fire dang it. I loved casting it on a rogue and watching them try to get away.

Well your first problem is using Rip on quest mobs. They donât live long enough to make it worth the energy spent. Itâs better to just Bite them instead. Bite actually does quite a bit of damage now so there shouldnât be many non-Elite mobs that survive more than a full CP rotation.
I might be in the minority, but Bleeds are my favourite aspect of Feral!
Possible ideas for fixing the âfeelâ of Balance when it comes to AOE/ramp-up:
WOTLK Starfall where it had splash damage to every creature around the Starfall-struck mob was extremely good. It felt good. It solves the problem for stacked mobs while having no impact on the strength of spread cleave because nothing to splash to due to proximity. (Wrath splash or Lunar Shrapnel tuned far better from BfA.)
Alternatively, the splash damage of Starsurge hitting a target in Starfall for 50% (or something, tune it better) is a decent idea. It can utilize Goldrinn talent node to do this, imo.
Otherwise, DOTs need to be buffed or Shooting Stars need to have the DR removed and/or buffed damage of it because we will NEVER put MF on 6+ mobs when we can just Sunfire them all.
Another idea is Empowered Starfire could cause Moonfire to cleave off your primary target to other mobs around it, similar to Lava Lash and Flame Shock for shamans. Because relying on a 3min cool down on Dragonflight talent tree to apply all dots to mobs is a.w.f.u.l. It is absolutely ridiculous that other specs have a 45-60sec cooldown to apply all their DOTs on a target. Iâd be okay with a 1.5 min CD to DOT everything in an area because Starfall extends said DOTs. Itâd be useful for every other pack (or every pack) in M+.
Another alternative is Starfire or Wrath can flare the dots (similar technology for Epidemic or Bursting Sores) that are active, idk if it should be from Empowered or not.
Itâs to be expected after the Priest and Druid class designer up and left 4 months prior to the expansion launch with classes in limbo.
DilemmaâŚ? During the time he hasnât left
Feral game experience is also rotten beyond description
It doesnât seem to make any difference whether he exists or not.
I am just a lowly lover of feral, have played it for 11 years now, though played it more competitively starting in Legion. Iâm a meek voice in the crowd of feedback, but I wanted to share my ideas and thoughts for the feral tree specifically.
dont rip on resto druids, we hate the current DF talent tree tooâŚ
Sorry, but please stop bringing lore into it. Lore has gone out the window already in this game! Heck, they want every race to be druids in the future. And, i like the current Adaptive Swarm. Its a shadow magic. I donât think you PVP because this suggestion you have would nerf us. Resto druids only have Nature spells to cast. If players kick us, we can use this ability because its shadow school.
With the new trees though they can give us options. Have it split somewhere and on one side its just FB and maybe a new finisher or CP generator (or, God forbid, both) and on the other side is the bleed side. And if you want, have it set so you can crossover and do both, but the heavy hitters on both are down further, so you can basically have it as is now, where it takes both, or have all one or the other.
