I am confused as to how you don’t see that these are basically the same thing
oh.
yea I agree that’s crap.

Yeah, I really don’t think interrupts should be optional for DPS and tank specs at the very minimum unless they plan on reworking casting and interrupt as whole for this expansion, but I find it difficult since they are planning on bringing in older dungeons to incorporate into the M+ system.
That’s good to know. I don’t know much about Druid, but I was using their tree as an example because that’s the only class available for comparison.
I think this system will be a lot of fun for PvP and M+ but is going to be drama-inducing for raids. Especially if your raid group has some cringelord raid-logging parse-chasers. At least a handful of folks in the guild I previously left would be the type of people to spec out of an interrupt on a fight like Prototype Pantheon and expect everyone else to get kicks.
It sounds like they’re making it impossible to trade utility talents for DPS ones to prevent this. Of course that also limits the “freedom of choice” pretty significantly, but otherwise we’d get a ton of what you mentioned.
I’m going to wait and see. I’m looking forward to getting the option to interrupt as a healer again.
It depends on how many points they give you then, because there are core rotation abilities in the left tree and interrupts are also on the left tree. They’d need to give you enough points that the remaining points are “fluff” (which isn’t altogether unlikely all things considered).
It’s sounds like the game devs played assension WoW and are now putting it in their game lmfao.
All and all it can’t possibly be as bad as the class design we’ve had in the past 2 expansions.
I honestly think giving players the options to choose on many different things is actually a good thing. I recognize, in certain situations, that it can be negative, however, a little bit of inspecting can solve all those problems.
For instance, some say that ints and those things shouldn’t be a choice and I disagree. It should be obvious that it’s a must for m+ and pvp situations, but in a raid situation, where there are countless ints that never get used, the trees provide OPTIONS to push extra dps as too meet certain requirements. Not to mention blizz does tailor it’s content knowing that ints and such are an option, so we will see a change in how things like this are approached in a raid setting.
Players have been fighting for more options for years meow. Don’t ruin it.
Part of the problem likely is that we’re looking at the druid tree first. Inevitably the druid general tree is going to more clogged with things for all 4 specs then say a demon hunter. Also being able to talent into interrupt, cleanse, or innervate in the general tree is a strength in my book since all of those things are situational, the situations just happen a lot.
Deep diving the druid tree it looks like the general tree will start at the “choose your spec” point since the first talent point you use is choosing between rake, frenzied regen, rejuvination, and starfire. And those talents continue into their respective trees. So really customization for a druid even in the general tree will likely be limited to 17-18 talent points after buying up their baseline stuff that the guides will tell you to buy and anyone with sense wouldn’t need a guide to tell them to buy. Beyond that though it looks to me that there is sizable player power in these talent trees and it looks fun even if I have no idea what the passives do.
To defend this for example there are things in this tree you can’t do right now. Like balance druids can get two interrupts because both solar beam and melee interrupt are on available trees. A resto druid can interrupt and have 3 stuns between stealth rake, combo point stun and might bash and be able to typhoon. I would also hazard a guess that the passive traits will make damage weaving solid again. It would be hard for them to make this worse then covenants or early azerite powers, I am cautiously optimistic about this.
Also m+ meta will be kicking players without interrupts. Inspect detective meta coming back.
“Well, everyone is gonna pass on utility, better make every fight patchwerk!”
Except you could be my teammate.
And when we need you to interrupt or hard CC you’ll tell us you’ve never bothered learning that skill since it doesn’t do damage.
Then we have to wait for you to tread alll the way back to Orgrimmar to change your talents then summon you back.
The real classic experience.
lmao.
They said 31 for the class tree (+ 2 first free) and 30 for the spec tree and it would alternate between each tree per level.
Cant wait to test some combo in the calculator or beta. Im also curious about the new spells we see in the pictures for Resto and Balance
From what I understand you can’t be a restohance shaman. You can be a shaman-resto, shaman-enhance, shaman-ele.
Lol they said you can save pre-determined build and you can change them whenever. So not sure whats your point. We aint in vanilla anymore
There is a reset all talents button in the example image, along with loadouts there is a real possibility for everyone to just be able to swap talents on the fly.
In before
“Pugs kicking people for not changing talents for every boss! Rawrrrrrr bad community!”
This system is gonna be GD gold!
(I actually think it’s the one part of the expansion I’m excited to try)
Except if you’d actually paid attention to any of the announcements, and would listen for the third time I’m saying this (I’m going to put it in bold).
You can set up multiple loadouts in a major city, and then swap them at anytime outside of that. As they have announced.
You will also never be picking more dps over utility. They have already announced you will have to pick utility from the trees and can’t just pick dps beneficial talents, and the only competition of choice is utility against other utility.
LMAO
No, not at all. Your just screaming that the sky is falling instead of seeing its just rain.
I mean at least everyone will get the hate now. And it won’t just be how hunters use to get treated for everything, and tanks do now for not knowing every shortcut and correct mob to pull.
Except they’ve already confirmed you can’t skip getting any form of utility just for DPS talents, so people will have utility regardless of this continued false narrative people are pushing. It’s literally a utility choice vs another utility choice that you have to take, and so many of the people here keep going no one will take utility for dps when they literally cannot do that…and I mean that as actual literally not the use of emphasis of literally.
