New system in place

Has this been producing good results?

This evening I finished a match, every time I get into the 1600s, OHH, its time for DH, DK, RET groups on glad mounts. And they are gonna do nothing but tunnel me, so I take it w a laugh.

They said YEPP rogue is about to leave lol. No way, I took my 0-6, but only Lost 20ish points, so I was like whooo hooo!

Weird part was I vanished got away and just watched for a min, none of their HP was dipping, was like they just auto attacked each other just waiting for me to rejoin the fight. I swear they was throttling their dps. Above 1600 is no fun, RSS gets very weird.

If this is in game, thats rediculous. If someone leave needs to just count all their games as a loss and divide it out based on that.

You might think this way but m+ is a huge part of the game now

After race to world first, m+ is without a doubt the highest viewed content and has the largest active player base of any of the content in wow.

M+ has been out for over half a decade and has the highest player base active in it…what are you even saying

They should of known the current cr/mmr system wasn’t going to be good for solo shuffle. Sure it’s in better tone with 2v2s and 3v3 gigs but in RSS it’s just not optimal. And even with the current implementation for leavers we are seeing now. Sure it’s better than what we had before and leaver will get more serious punishment but with the current mmr system in RSS you can see the imperfections and problems even more prevalent. They should of went with an individual point system for the player heavily. It would negate a lot of factors but no one likes to listen.

You can’t stop people from being dumb. You can only educate them and hope it sticks.

In the long run, calculating gains and losses per match will benefit anyone who doesn’t leave games, because there are only 2 potential leavers on your team in early rounds vs 3 potential leavers on the opposing team.

Let’s play a game, forum.

Roll a D6. If it comes up 3, 4, 5, or 6, you win $100. If it comes up 1 or 2, you lose $100. You can do this as many times as you wish.

An absurdly large number of people on this forum who roll a 1 or 2 on their first attempt would IMMEDIATELY come here and write a dissertation about how the dice are rigged and the entire system is bullsh*t and demand that the servers get rolled back, instead of taking the twelve seconds needed to rub their three brain cells together to deduce that in the long run, they win $33 every single time they roll the dice.

If Blizzard would take more advantage of shadowbanning capabilities of the forum software, this place would be so much more readable.

You’re making the classic mistake of thinking people will behave in their best interest at all times.

You’re not addressing the fact that the game is rigged and people will leave to grief, or transfer their CR to someone from their 15th copy of their rDruid. Thinking that rating is their main incentive for what they are doing is wrong headed.

If you roll low every single time, then maybe you should stop being so toxic toward the die in the starting room of round 2.

Beyond that, I’m not clear how you think this is a system that can be tampered with or is somehow rigged.

There’s no way you can realistically queue into someone consistently, so worrying about rating dumping is the height of absurdity and just you seeing monsters under the bed.

Yes it is and that has helped WoW’s downfall over the last few expansions.

Why do people think activity in something means players like it? People don’t like M+ but they do it for the Toxic vault. They are forced to do it for gear because they need gear. M+ unfortunately is a major part of progression that players hate because they don’t want to be in M+.

  • Again are you telling me because Korthia was active it was a good zone? Of course it wasn’t. It was the worst zone ever made with tedious grinds that we had to do.

Players have to do M+ even if they hate it but over the past several expansions that has taken a toll on the game. It’s driven players away because they are tired of it. The relentless toxic weekly vault has driven players away. Players are tired of this garbage and just want a great game again.

Blizz had the model for a successful MMO before M+, PvP aura’s, Weekly chest/vault. Right now this isn’t it and that is why people didn’t come back for DF and it sold poorly. Players were hoping Blizz would change and they haven’t. The downhill trend for WoW continues because Blizz refuses to get back to old design that made WoW a great MMO.

DF is gonna have less activity than SL not because it’s a worse expansion, it’s just the Dev team refuses to make the big changes needed to fix WoW and get back to a simple clean wonderful design philosophy. Players didn’t buy DF because they are over it and waiting.

I haven’t done an M+ in 3 expansions but guild mates that do absolutely hate it.

But as you mentioned they are addicts like us and its the carrot on the stick.

Yep saw this one coming a mile away.

I mean you can get suspended now if you continuously do it… but it’s 2023 I guess people will still go that route on purpose

They could have done 6v6 rated solo shuffle battlegrounds with 4 dps, 1 tank, 1 healer. The queues would be faster for dps players. There would be no dampening so underprivileged healers like holy priests could shine. The BG format would have more combat variety instead of the typical pillar humping and endless melee cleaves.

And let’s face it. Most players enjoy BGs more than arena. The only reason most do arena is because forming a team of 2 or 3 is easier than forming a full team of 10+. That’s why solo shuffle BGs should be limited to 6v6.

That’s because you can hide in a battleground if you’re undergeared, and you can 1v5 the undergeared people if you aren’t.

Neither of those are possible in such a small format as 6v6 with normalized gear.

Solo queue RBG would be a complete mess, but you might suck in some people who don’t traditionally take part in organized PvP.

Talk about making the lives of your healer miserable, though. Sweet baby Jesus can you imagine the hate for that 1 healer in charge of keeping 5 other people alive?

Also, name even one map that would function correctly in a 6v6 setting. Would you ever actually fight another player, or would it be a walking/capping simulator?

Disagree. It would be alot better on healers and the same “rng” of who you get over a long span of queues

The system has a very obvious weak point and that is the extremely low number of healers queuing into it. It’s easily exploited, especially at certain times of the day.

You not seeing that is either a complete lack of awareness or cognitive bias.

I had a game where it was obvious a healer and 1 dps knew each other. The ret certainly had a different skill set on games he played with the healer vs against.

Unless he let his little bro play 3 games lol

“Okay, I queued up about an hour ago, so you should queue… NOW!”

Get out of here.

I wouldn’t totally rule this out but I feel like the majority of the time they’re just bad and don’t even realize when they’re playing well
