The only possible way I see them bringing back Sargeras OR Illidan, is if the game starts loosing a ton of subscriptions suddenly.
He’s essentially blizzards Break Glass to stop the bleeding button.

I just like reading, that’s all I will add here
Another Christie Golden novel?
Just leave the poor elf alone—hasn’t she suffered enough?
(Disclaimer: Not a comment on Christie Golden herself. I’m sure she is a lovely person IRL. I just think that her novels have done a lot of damage to Sylvanas as a character, and giving her the last word on Sylvanas makes me feel queasy.)
Except wasn’t it Dave Kossak that wrote EoN, that set Sylvie on her current story arc?
I think Christie Golden has done more damage to the character of Sylvanas than EoN. YMMV.
She doesn’t get the last word. If Danuser tells her to write a justification for all her crimes, she has to do it.
Not to mention speaking as a writer books take a long time to write (especially when you factor in editing/preview galleys, etc…AND this is going to have an audio version narrated by Patty herself (which could explain the lack of her in-game as audio books take a long time to produce and narrate).
This is going to release after the raid (since the prediction currently is July/August for 9.1) is out so it’s possible this is just a 'here’s the narrative journey of her story from beginning to end with attempts to fill in gaps, show behind the scenes/inside her head, etc" much like the Arthas novel was.
Was it the temper tantrum in Warcrimes? Because Sylvie’s portrayal in BtS was pretty clearly in response to both the stories needs of her in BfA & all of that operating off of that damned hook from EoN. Also, no, truly, people really underestimate how much damage EoN did to Sylvie’s character. That story completely recontextualized her entire relationship with her Forsaken up through the fall of Arthas; and portrayed her not as their savior … but far more as their manipulative abuser and user.
Imagine the blowback if in the book there is a scene where she has a long dialogue that convinces Anduin she is right , he turns to the fourth wall and says how stupid anyone would be to not see this, and then willingly allows the jailer to possess him to support her 4 dimensional chess game.
I’ve already gone over why I think EoN still leaves her room for positive development. I realize you don’t share that reading, but I did hope that you might acknowledge it existed, after our last exchange on the subject.
You guys know it’s a biography right a lot of you speak like it’s gonna have massive amounts of new lore
Not new lore but recontextualized or even retconned lore in there.
Yeah at best we are finally gonna get a look at how a high elf childhood was like
“Daddy I want a pony.” Syls dad: “Alright sweets, we will just as this one to the herd.”
Also to the people who thinks she’s gonna live why would she get a biography instead of a story about what’s she’s gonna do in shadowlands
Why would they write a book about what you can see in game already if you just played Shadowlands?
They’re pretty obviously doing a biography to try and make sense of all the conflicting portrayals of Sylvanas that have been in previous books.
It doesn’t really indicate if she’s going to live or die.
The people who want her dead are scrambling for any signs of a cliff they can still cling to.
Between the new story spoilers and a new novel, it seems like Blizzard is more invested in this character than ever and it’s threatening to them.
After years of being the backburner it’s finally nice to have Sylvanas take the spotlight.
Arthas had a book, it obiviously a send off
Most people myself included have extreme Sylvanas fatigue, we just want her story over and done with whatever the resolution may be.
How can you have fatigue when she’s only been a C plot since Legion? As a longtime fan, she hasn’t had enough exposure, imo.
Arthas was a major character from WC3 to WoLK.
