New SL customization gonna drive home what a rush-job Nightborne were

You’re the allied race equivalent of Void Elves. You exist as a faction swap gimmick. That’s literally it. That’s why you look like Night Elves. That’s why Void Elves are just Blood Elves.

Be glad your idle stance is different at least.

many, many things they need to correct.

they couldn’t even fix the heritage armor that i reported broken back in 8.2. it seems like a race blizzard just doesn’t like for some reason.

they need to be taller, maybe slightly shorter than a zandalari. their eyes need to be squinty. their faces need to be less wrinkly.

I mean, orcs and highmountain are really just recolours, specially orcs.
But yeah, in any case vulpera is an actual fully new race vs 5 sub-races (2 extremely disliked) in the alliance, there’s no comparison.

i’d say nightborne count too, they’re as different from thalassian and darnassian as they are from each other*.

*when given the proper npc models.

Yes because allied races who get half-quick jobs done can be compared to new customization options in Shadowlands… yeah… REAL SOLID argument OP like always! /sarcasm

Imagine all this, but with even less difference from the core race and only 5 class options.
That’s Lightforged for you.

I was really excites for nightborne. Was the first time i thought hey, I might make an elf! ha! Then they came out…
Skinnier nelfs, with the same constipated grimaces, same animation bugs (like jumping while running causes you to limp on the first frame), and faces only a mother could love…and it was a solid nope.

Lol I’m pretty sure female nightborne have less hair options than any male race besides Tauren since they don’t have hair. That’s pretty dumb not gonna lie. Nightborne are something we don’t talk about in my orcish household because of how bad their customization is. They should get stuff later in SL or in 10.0, if not that’s a huge mistake.

It always amazes me how so many people try to make this into a subjective view and twist it into a not so bad thing, but sorry, it is objective and pretty bad. Nbs transition into a playable race was basically take the regular model and beat it with the ugly stick to a coma, and this is coming from someone who wanted them so bad id spend way too much time in suramar just to see my char as one.

Void elves have more customizations in number, but almost all the hair and skin colors are the same. Nightborne have blonde, black, white, gray, and Pink hair, void elves have gray, purple, red and shades of blue. You have three skin colors, we have gray and blue. And you have tattoos and jewelries. To be honest, i think nightborne have more options than velves.

Nightborne were given a new standing animation and tweaks to the actual skeleton of the night elf model with thinner arms, legs and waists as well as much different ears. The male nightborne look very different from male night elves. This was more than the other allied races at the time got, in addition races like LF draenei all use the regular draenei faces, the nightborne faces are not just reused night elf faces. In addition, nightborne aren’t just reusing hair styles from the base race like some of the void elf hairs.

Nightborne aren’t my favorite allied race, but compared to the other recolors there was a lot more effort put into them. You can say you don’t like their look, but they were less rushed than Void Elves, HMT and LF Draenei who are literally only the base race with slightly new customization, some of the customization such as the faces are just reused.

shrugs I don’t necessarily disagree with wanting more options and customization, and sure i’ve never found them to be that aesthetically-pleasing to look at, however there is a charm to them that makes it up to me personally.

Again i don’t disagree, i just feel like every Race in the game has this same issue in one way or anoth-except-Druids! druidscangojumpoffapierwithhowmanyoptionsthey…

passes out momentarily

Just kidding about the Druids comment, but dang it i want to shapeshift too! D:

the lightforged aren’t really bad in their execution.

the problem is that they shouldn’t have been an allied race in the first place. they’re a power up, not a race. the army of light describes a single lightforged soldier being worth 10 regular soldiers.

lightforging should have been a customization option for regular draenei, not a new race.

That’s not what I’m talking about. I don’t care that nightborne are a recolor. I’m saying they were obviously rushed as they have hardly any customization options to speak of, bugs had to be fixed several times(last I looked their idle animation was still broken), and they look nothing like the race we were supposed to get in the first place.

Welcome to the world Worgen have been in for years. Don’t worry your horde so you’ll get something done long before the 10 years of neglect mark.

Would you rather have them be night elves, I mean literally slightly paler night elves? No stance change, no slimmer bodies, just night elves in a different shade.
'cuz that’s what we got with Lightforged.

I’m fine with horde getting Nightborne, because they look absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention how terrible their animations are. Botched creation.

High Mountain, Lightforged, and Nightborne are all joke tier in terms of customization. Yet it somehow feels worse with Nightborne because there’s evidence of an attempt being made, where as it’s clear the Lightforged and High Mountain are really just quickie filler that should have just been new customization options for existing races.

This isn’t a freakin contest. Just because we think the nightborne got it worse, doesn’t mean the other races don’t also need improvements. Frankly all of the allied races look pathetic considering the effort it takes to get them and now they’ll look even worse compared to the base races.

Hopefully they are not done showing new customization options in SL.
Nightborne are the main ones in need of new options so they just have to get something more if other races are getting new options. I probably won’t get SL if they don’t get something new as I have many neglected Nightborne alts waiting for changes.
